SOURCE: location of inertia switch/fuel pump

Yes it can. It doesn't take much like slamming a door or dropping a load of parts. There is only a magnetic ball inside the contacts and it is a wonder that Railroad tracks and Potholes do not trigger more shutoffs. All you do is find the switch and hold down the button on it for about 3 seconds.

Then try starting the van without slamming the doors shut until it is running. If the Inertia switch does not help check the fuse panel, then the relay. The relay should either be in the Black powerbox group or in with the fuseholders.

Inertia switch

Jeep does not use an inertia switch like fords. It uses a relay system that grounds with the computer or oil pressure switch. No oil pressure no run.

Will not start

The most frequent cause is the Inertia switch. Usually in a car with Air-ride the switch is located in the trunk next to the Air-ride switch. It has a reset button.
Other styles of Inertia switches are behind the front floor kick panels. Do an Internet search for "2001 Lincoln LS Inertia switch location".
If you mean the Engine did not crank over- A common problem is a switch on the top of the brake pedal lever. Often the brake lights will not work with this defect. Press the pedal and see.
The brake pedal switch often gets hit by a drivers foot and breaks or gets repositioned.
