SOURCE: SOLUTION: HOW TO REPLACE REAR BULBS ON 2002 & 2004 BUICK LESABRE

Rear tail lamps for the 2002 La Sabre has eight nuts that hold the cover in place ( one piece-all acroos the back of the car). Do not remove the nuts for the lock, the cover sits in place and is not secured to the lock. Use a 10 mm deep well socket. remove the nuts and lift the cover to replace the burned out bulb(s). The bulbs are #194 or #198 (very small bulbs), not the 3057. It is easy to locate the burned out bulbs by putting the car in reverse and shutting off the engine and then put the ignition key in the accessory mode. The lights will light unless they are burned out. Simply pull them out and replace with the new ones and put the cover back in place and secure the nuts.

If one of your bulbs has blown you will get a faster relay click when you activate the indicators. It sounds as though the relay itself could be sticking / broken.

Of course it could just be a blown fuse, I would check that first before changing relays

SOURCE: Troubleshooting tail light assembly issues in my Jeep

Check fuse panel, under dash, as well as under hood. Owners manual should also give you map of fuses. May say"park" lights, "running lights", or something similar.

Testimonial: "Thanks a lot for the info, I never thought to check the fuses. Appreciate it"

How do you replace the headlight assembly on a 99 Pontiac Grand Am?

  1. Open the hood to your Pontiac Grand Am. Have the car keys on you, but not in the ignition and make sure the lights are in the "off" position.
  2. Step 2 Locate the splash guard and the plastic push pins that hold it down. It runs along the entire front frame rail. Removing the entire splash guard will make it easier to to remove even one headlight on one particular side.
  3. Step 3 Remove the pins by lifting up on the center of the pin. Pull it up about 1/4-inch and then pry the pin insert and pin out of the hole.
  4. Step 4 Locate and remove the two-headlight assembly bolts on the the top of the headlight assembly. Use the ratchet and a socket to remove the bolts.
  5. Step 5 Pull the headlight assembly forward by hand. Be careful not to scratch the lens of the assembly or scratch the paint on the front bumper.
  6. Step 6 Unplug the wire from the back of the headlight that is blown out.
  7. Step 7 Turn the headlight bezel counterclockwise (about 1/4 turn) until it releases the headlight from the back of the headlight assembly. Extract the old headlight and discard it.
  8. Step 8 Insert the new headlight into the headlight assembly. Be careful not to touch the glass of the bulb. Handle it only from the bottom.
  9. Step 9 Replace the bezel and turn 1/4 turn clockwise until it locks into place.
  10. Step 10 Plug the wire back into the headlight and rest the assembly onto the bumper gently so you can turn on the lights to test and make sure the headlight it working properly.
  11. Step 11 Insert the headlight assembly back into place. Replace and tighten the headlight assembly bolts.
  12. Step 12 Put the splash guard into place and place the push pins into position. Insert the pin and its insert into the hole with the pin still in the "up" position. When the insert is seated flush to the splash guard in the hole, simply push the pin down to lock.

I need instructions on removing and replacing the transmission cooler lines going to the radiator on a 96 jeep grand cherokee. also would a part store carry the replacement assembly or do i need to go to...

Those lines actually go to a small transmission oil cooler mounted behind the grill. Don't be surprised if you end up replacing the entire cooler. The best way to get to it is to remove the front bumper cover, and grill. The bumper is mostly held in place by those plastic push in connectors, and the grill is a pretty straightforward unbolting job. As you remove the grill , make a note of where they placed the wires for the lights, it's very easy to pinch one on re-assembly. I would certainly try an auto parts store first, they are available. Depending on your time frame, I have found the parts online also. It's really a pretty easy fix, just time consuming. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any other questions about this, good luck!

How to replace window regulator for 1998 jeep grand cherokee

Hi
You must remove the door pane by prying out with a wide screw drivernext to the clips that hold it in place. also you may have to remove a few phillips screws inside the pocket of the door handle.
After panel has been removed .Remove the two bolts that hold the assembly in place unplug the cable that connects to the motor and pick up on window and remove the whole assembly. Installation is just in reverse.
Be careful of the clips that hold the panel to the door as they break or strip easily. But dont worry if they do break you can pick them up at your local auto store.
Hope this helped good luck

How to replace window regulator on 1999 jeep grand cherokee passenger side front

sorry I don't have much on this one. But, once the door panel is removed, you need to disconnect the glass from the regulator. I can't remember... but I think it is held on with U clips. They are just pushed in on the back side of the trolly. Too release them just push to one side. (see pic)
2218041.jpg *****NOTE: this is from another vehicle but the pin is the same...in the pic. the pin is being pushed back into place.

push the glass all the way to the top of the door and tape it there. Unplug the motor, unbolt the regulator and remove.

4803164.jpg (Im pretty sure that year had 2 pins to hold in the door glass, if I'm wrong you will clearly see 2 X 10mm bolts holding the glass to the regulator)
hope this helps.

How do I remove the plastic headlight covers to clean them?

Remove the screw on top of the lamp assembly. The lamp assemble come off as one unit. There are three contact clips that hold the lamp on. They may be frozen fast. Try spraying oil to loosen before removing lamp assembly. To remove the lamp, push down on the top of the lamp, this should loosen the top pin from the holder, then try to pull the assembly straight out. It takes some tugging and pulling if the light assembly has been in for a few years. In fact the clips may snap off and need to be replaced before putting in a new lamp assembly. Good Luck

My rear lights on my 99 jeep grand cherokee do not work when I turn the lights on. They work fine when the lights are off. Any idea as to what the cause might be. Any place I can view a wiring diagram...

These Jeeps are notorious for the retainers breaking that hold the circuit board type wiring against the bulb contacts. With my 2000 Grand Cherokee, the brake lights would work when the headlight/tail lights were off. If the lights were on, the rear lights would go out altogether when I pressed the brakes. The easist fix would be replacing the tail light assemblies, but these are not cheap. My fix was to open up the inside cover of the tail light housing and use machine screws in each of the locations that the plastic tabs hold the retainer against the light housing.
