My camry rattles underneath the car when it's windy on the freeway.

how is the engine oil ? when was it last changed as old oil is less effective , try an oil and filter change , but a hard rattle as you describe it may be something ,not more serious , but maybe a loose drive belt or some thing that when engine revs increase's it becomes noticable though is still there ,if oil change makes no difference have a good listen around engine also underneath to try to narrow down location , hope this helps keep me posted if you wish

its most likely the shaft piece of the cv axle it may be bent or installed improperly but yes it is the cv

are you sure its an internall rattle? does the rattle corispond to engine speed?does it rattle only under a certain drive condition?

are you sure your exhaust aint rattling??ive seen people come in for suspension when its the exhaust,check the mounting bushings,and brackets

check the heat plate on the catalytic converter. They are tack welded in and have tendencies to come loose in a corner. If thats the case either re tack it back in or (like me) yank it out.

Well the biggest problems for the 98 and 99 cavaliers are that they mess up from the timing chain,..they make a rattling noise on the right side underneath the fender.
