Audi A4 top wont go down.

The lever in the trunk for the storage bay is no longer operating the storage bay. It is in the down position so not sure why the top won't go down?

Loss of hydraulic fluid due to a leak is the likely cause. Defective hydraulic pump motor is another possibility

Did you wind it all the way down? If so that is the problem, it must be open a few turns to fit back in.

SOURCE: I need to get to the trunk lock mechanism but

The liner is held on by little plastic studs. It can be gently pried off Then you will have access to the lock. The lock should have a nut on it that holds it to the trunk. Turn nut counter-clockwise to remove.

SOURCE: Code P0118 on Audi A4 - Related to Ignition Coil Problem?

Hi, the sensor on the engine (right at the rear end of the cylinder head) has two separate outputs. One drives the temperature gauge and the other provides data for the engine control unit. The output for the engine control unit is almost certainly faulty and the sensor will need to be replaced. It isn't an expensive item and's not time consuming to replace (1/2 hr) - so you could ask Audi to do it for you when they replace the ignition coils.
Hope that helps Matt..

SOURCE: trunk wont open and the back seat wont fold down on our kia optim

By switching the lever you locked the inside trunk release, you will need to put lever back. as far as the trunk you may need to remove the rear seat, pop lower part out and then remove the bolts to the top half of the seat then try to reach the lever so it will open from the inside. i've found that many of these cars with the pop lever inside have sticking trunk locks from not being used, what you do first is spary lock good, with wd40 or pb blaster then slide key in and out and try to turn this may take a whhile but it works then tumbler will free up, you just have to keep spraying inside lock and working the key.

Trunk lever

It's a safety device in case someone is locked in the trunk. They've actually done tests and even children seem to know what to do with that yellow pull lever. Next time you're locked inside the trunk, feel around for that lever.

My roof on my audi convertible wont go down..message on dash says put down the storage area in boot but it is down???

Look for the micro switches that tell the car what position the top is in.l These tend to go bad and the car loses the location of the top. The switch that looks at the storage area is not telling the car it is already down.

...does the top start to open or it doens't even move? Does the hatch where the top goes into start to open? If so, stop the top after you see that the hatch has completely opened, then manually push that piece down. Be carefull not to get stuck and make sure nobody is operating the top while you're attempting this so you don't get your arm stuck there for any reason.

You could also try to access it from the truck and pull it down manually. I may just snap back into place and the problem will go away. On my car, one of the sides was stuck UP and the other was working. Once it snapped back into place it works every time.

My a4 audi convertables roof has jammed what do i do wont close back

Can you first look in the owners manual , there is a procedure for simple solutions .

If there is a problem with the shelf in the trunk the roof will not function properly.

open the trunk and pull the lever , does the shelf move up and down or is it jammed .

If it does not work the shelf needs replacement .

Ascan tool may be needed to read ant logged faults .

Convertible top wont go down?

there should be a manual override button, lever or switch in the trunk. your owners manual should help guide you with this. it should be right under the roof with a manual lever to bypass the system therefore resetting it. also check fuses. good luck.
