Check your DRL relay that is located in the fuse box. Also check the connector under the battery box for corrosion. (Not a smart place to put a connector) GM really messed up with the wiring on the 98-00 cavaliers headlights.

SOURCE: DRL

Most DRL's are controlled by a relay. The relay malfunctions after a while. Need to go to the dealer and purchase a DRL relay. Once you see what it looks like open hood and match it to the bad one, then replace. If you can not locate it the library has mechanical books for you make and model to look up location of the drl relay.

SOURCE: 2005 Chrysler Town & Country. Passenger side window problem.

HAVEK 1005 sounds right on track.... but also try this, usually works well for non functional power windows, specially Caravans.

NO COST PROCEDURE TO FIX IT:

1. Sit in vehicle, on seat next to problematic window
2. Ignition key is on
3. Door in question is opened (in case you closed it)
4. While door is open, press and hold power window button in desired window travel, keep button pressed !!
5. SLAM hard the door closed with one hand while other hand holds button as per #4.
6. Watch window operate as it should.
7. Repeat 3-6 if necessary, but usually the first try works!

NOW, for the naysayers that says you must replace power window motors etc, at $$$ cost because the above fix does not work, or is not long lasting fix, or less than a "professional fix".... Well then, when the window fails to operate again, apply same fix again at that time.

I have fixed my van this way numerous times (usually once a year), and to all local friends I recommend this fix too, likewise do the same and are happy with the solution.

Try disconnecting the negative bbattery cable for 5 minutes to reset the system control module, if that doesn't do it you will need the dealer to look at this.

2005 toyota avalon overheated and now it will not start

Is it turning over or is it locked up - check to see if your can turn it over by hand- serious overheating can ruin an engine permanently. It can melt critical wiring as well. For many of the 90's and 2000's Toyota various models - Camry, Tacoma, 4 Runners, Corolla, and some other models it is usually caused by temperature sensitive fan switch on the radiator not operating. Electric fan on the radiator should operate when temp above 200 degrees. Less often the control relay 90987-03003 is defective. Check if bubbling in the radiator smells like exhaust. That would indicate a blown head gasket. A jumper wire from your marker light positive to the lower contact in the fan control relay socket will operate your fan when parking lights are on. The larger vehicles with more powerful radiator fans will need a hefty jumper from a headlight positive to avoid overheating the lighting wiring. Make sure the engine is off and warmed up to check the radiator core with your hand to see if it is getting circulation. If it is all cold the thermostat might be stuck.

Criuse control does not work

The car isnt that old, it may be something silly. A blowen fuse, an issue with the brake-light switch, or clutch switch (if applicable). If not you may need to send it in for repair.
