SOURCE: 2005 ford taurus horn just doesn't work. I've

The problem can be with the horn pad, the horn relay or the horn itself. Find your horn relay, it should be in the engine compartment fuse box. Remove the relay and test for power at the legs. there should be two legs that have power. If there is power there, take the cover off the relay and plug it back in. Squeez the relay points together and see if the horn works. If the horn still does not work, it is probably the horn itself. If it does work it is probably the horn pad, but you don't want to mess with that because of the air bag. Let a pro do it.

All of this is predicated on the fact that you have checked all the fuses.

Hope this helps
Rich

SOURCE: I have a 2008 Honda CRV and for the life of me I

The cruise-controls have 2-buttons that must be activated before it gets the car going when you remove your foot off the gas-pedal.
The cruise button is essentailly a switch that turns 'on' the cruise servo-motor that tells the sytems that you wants to use it, so it gets ready.
There are other three switches on the right-side of the steering wheel namely: resume accel; cancel; set decel.
To get your car to cruise: you must steady your speed and foot on the gas-pedal. You cannot just press the switches and expect the car to cruise. It takes about two-to-three seconds for the system to respond to a set cruising speed.
How to do it: accelerate to a speed of about 30-mph. Press the 'cruise' button on the dash first. Next you press 'set decel' button. This will turn 'on' the cruise control light on the instrument panel. Then wait a second or three and you would feel the cruise engagement. Any touch on the brake pedal will slow down the car and turns the cruise off. The 'cancel' button turns off the cruise light on the instrument panel.
If you hit the brake-pedal at any time for any reason, and you would like to continue cruising again, simply press the 'resume accel' button.
The cruise system works in conjunction with the braking system of the car. So all major parts of the braking system must be in good condition, otherwise the cruise system could shut off itself.

SOURCE: 2005 honda odyssey radio controls on the steering

there is a service bulletin about this. the steering wheel has to be removed along with the switch gear. then the steering shaft ring that makes contact for these controls while the wheel is being turned need to be gently dimpled to make better contact. if the dimples are too extremem the whole steering column will need replaced.

How do I rest the Service indicator for a 2005 CLK Cabriolet? None of the suggestions listed below worked for me.

First make sure all of the doors, hood, trunk, etc are closed.
Turn the key to position 1
Press system select button(lower left buttons on the steering wheel) that looks like sheets of paper until you see mileage reading or temperature displayed.

Press the brightness button on the lower left instrument cluster 3 times. You should hear a signal and see voltage on the display.

Turn the key to position 2

Press the lower scroll forward/back button(steering left arrows)). You should see "service indicator" on the screen

Press the Brightness button again once. You should see oil type on the screen.

Select the oil grade you used by pressing the + & - buttons on the upper right on the steering wheel.

Press the scroll forward/backward button to confirm. Confirm oil reset, press R(brightness button on lower left on cluster) for 3 seconds should appear on the display.

Service confirmed should appear on the display.

Press the upper forward/backward button & "service indicator" appears on the display.

Press the upper system select button(lower left steering wheel button on left) The display should go back to basic mileage or temperature.

If all else fails. I believe the shortcut I took as a tech was, turn the key to the first position, scroll until you see the temperature or mileage displayed. Turn the key off, push in the brightness button and HOLD it while turning the key to the 2nd position. You should see something like do you want to reset service? press R(brightness) button for 3 seconds and it should reset.

Good luck. The newer cars are worse.

I recently got my (Honda Odyssey 2006) oil changed by a non Honda tech and now i need the service maintainence signal -code A14 reset so that i can be notified when the next oil change is due.

  • Lets get started. Place the key in the ignition and turn as if to start your minivan - but do not actually start your Odyssey.

  • 2) Locate and click the black odometer button located near the bottom of the instrument panel until "Oil Life" along with a percentage value appears.
  • 3) Release your finger from the button, then press and hold the button for ten (10) seconds.
  • 4) Once again, release your finger from the button, then press and hold the button for five (5) more seconds. Lets count: one Mississippi, two Mississippi, etc. all the way to five.
  • 5) Your Honda Odyssey's display panel should read "Oil Life 100%." You are done!
