SOURCE: 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette ABS Light is on and

The first thing i would check is all 4 abs sensors at the wheels. You can do this with a volt meter set on ac voltage and spin the wheel if it generates voltage at all on the meter its good.

SOURCE: abs light/traction control light

You can check out what the trouble code is by pushing and holding the information button and the up arrow (right side of instrument cluster above the radio) until all the instrument clusters light. Press the information button (last) to enter test mode. I've had an error C1234, meaning Left rear wheel sensor fault. I found the problem to be a corroded connector under the chasis just under the rear left door about 2 feet in. I had to by-pass (replace 1 wire due to corrosion at the connector.

SOURCE: Engine light and ABS traction control light remain

The ABS sensor is a speed sensor also for Traction Control. This is why both lights are on , One of your front ABS sensors are bad or disconnected, or has a pinched wire.

Hello: There are many things that will cause the lights to come on. You can check the brake fluid if it is low that will cause the light to come on. you can clear the code with a up scale scanner but if the problem is not corrected the light will come back on.

ABS pump and relay

First of all, make sure that your brake fluid level is correct. The brake, traction, and ABS systems on these cars all work together and if one thing goes wrong in any one part of the system, all of those lights will come on at the same time. Check your brake fluid level and be sure to use the correct DOT 3 brake fluid. DO NOT SUBSTITUTE with any other fluid. Let me know if your brake fluid level is ok and we'll go from there.

I have a problem with my abs and trac off light being on all the time

Those are indicators of problems in the ABS and Transmission systems. In many cases the problem in the Transmission will cause the ABS to come on but if you have a caliper sticking it will give you traction control problems. The TCM light is the traction control system and that light will come on if the TCM is turned off so check for that and check you calipers and fluid level in the braking system. If the braking system is good then the problem is going to be the transmission and you will need to have a shop look at that.

Just bought a 97 Aurora and had tires put on front and balanced. Now traction light comes on while driving and RPM goes to 0. After I pull over, it will run fine...What could be the problem?

OK, when the traction light or abs light goes on when driving then it could be a bad wheel speed sensor or traction control module. IF the RPM goes to 0, that may be an engine sensor problem or wiring to the sensor for the crankshaft position sensor or cam sensor.

I'm just guessing: You may have a bad ABS Sensor. since you mentioned TRACTION Control. Traction Control controls the vehicle while it is in motion but a faulty or failing ABS Sensor could interfere with your traction Sensorbe the cause of your worries. Hope its a good guess!

Traction control and ABS lights stay on

You will need to scan the ABS module, most likely it will be a wheel speed sensor requiring a hub assembly or the main abe electronic module has a bad relay... then change the whole unit with a used one from the bone yard...

You will have to find someone that can scan your abs module to get the ball rolling

My 2002 aurora abs light break light and traction control light are all on even when car is running

This could be a number of things from wheel hub sensors to brake controller. Since you say the Brake Light is on as well, this is likely the ABS controller module - a common failure. I had the same thing, took it off, mailed it in for repair ($150.00) and had it back in a week. It takes about 20 minutes to remove the part.

Before you do anything, get or have the ABS codes scanned. If you have code C1214 (maybe others) this is the issue.

Traction light stays on as well as my abs would come on and stays on and clicking noise during braking.

Sounds like you have a problem in the front brakes or a front wheel speed sensor. A common cause for a Traction light is a faulty front ABS wheel speed sensor or harness. When the Anti lock brake computer sees a problem in the ABS syetm, it disables traction control as well.
