My 2006 Impalas traction control keeps engaging and the service traction control message keeps appearing. I replaced the front hubs but it continues to happen. Any ideas what it might be?

Check abs wiring harness a few inches up from the plug and check for broken wire. Could be a defective hub also. Best bet to scan for codes. It might have nothing to do with the work you already have done.

Testimonial: "Thanks, I'm thinking e.ither the wiring or the sensors. I have already replaced the hubs"

Anti-Lock and Trac Off lights are lit on my 1999 Alero, as well. They usually come on after about 5 minutes of driving, but are not always on when I start the car.

SOURCE: My 2006 HHR traction control keeps engaging when

The traction control should engage any time the front wheels slip. The only way to disable it is to put the transmission in low 1. If it is engaging (Driver Information Center message) when the wheels are NOT slipping then you need to take the car to the dealer. The HHR is almost all computer controlled and there are very few user adjustments.

SOURCE: traction control off, service traction control,

{: ) Your stabilitrak system may not work properly. The vehicle need to be scanned for trouble codes. In case you get a C0196 code, the recommendation is to reprogram the electronic brake control module. I hope that's the only cause.

SOURCE: TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LIGHT COMES ON

Well you have a DRP Dynamic Rear proportioning problem, this is how the rear brakes are controlled by the EBDM in the ABS/TCS.
If you have had or have a low voltage problem problem change your battery. Low or inconsistent voltage is horrible on electronics.
Or you have had 2 speed sensors on the same axle go out and send bad report at the same time. This car is not to be cranked and ran in the air or on a lift or while jacked up so if Midas did this they owe you your money back they set the code threw the traction control module if this happened in Midas. If not look into all above for your solution. Please rate my solution this is how i earn my achievements. Thanks in advance.

My 2003 impalas traction control wont shut off tried a new switch it has new hubs on it any ideas

Before replacing parts there is a specific way to start diagnostics an a professional grade scan tool is a must ! a code reader can not access the body control module , or the EBCM - electronic brake control module or instrument cluster ! All these modules communicate on the class 2 serial data bus.
Begin the system diagnosis with Diagnostic System Check - ABS . The Diagnostic System Check will provide the following information:
?€¢
The identification of the control modules which command the system

?€¢
The ability of the control modules to communicate through the serial data circuit

?€¢
The identification of any stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and their status

The use of the Diagnostic System Check will identify the correct procedure for diagnosing the system and where the procedure is located.
The traction control switch is a input to the body control module, with a scan tool hooked up an looking at BCM data ,check for conformation the traction control switch is turning on an off !
SERVICE TRACTION SYSTEM The IPC illuminates the SERVICE TRACTION SYSTEM indicator in the message center when the electronic brake control module (EBCM) detects a malfunction in the traction control system. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the EBCM requesting illumination. The SERVICE TRACTION SYSTEM indicator illuminates for 60 seconds when the condition is present. The IPC sends a class 2 message to the radio in order to activate an audible warning.
TRAC OFF The IPC illuminates the TRAC OFF indicator when the following occurs:
?€¢
The electronic brake control module (EBCM) inhibits the traction control system due to a malfunction in the traction control system. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the EBCM requesting illumination.

?€¢
The body control module (BCM) detects that the traction control switch has been pressed (signal circuit is low). The BCM sends a class 2 message to the EBCM in order to disable traction control. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the EBCM requesting illumination. The BCM sends a class 2 message to the radio in order to activate an audible warning.

What does it mean when my service traction control message comes on?

It Usually Means that There is a problem with one of your front Hub sensors which are built in to the Hub. First try unplugging the Hub Sensor connectors, wiping them clean with a rag and Q tips and then adding dielectric grease to them. Other wise figure out which hub is bad and replace it. Listen for noises coming from wheels is easiest method and usually works.

2005 Impala 3.8L LS with service traction light on dashboard

It's usually the sensor inside the wheel hub or the wiring harness to the brake controller. The service traction light will set a trouble code. If your mechanic is stumped, authorize him to call a GM tech support line. The call is $50, but the GM tech support can help him figure out what's wrong.
