How do you remove ignition key from 2001 -pontiac grande prix

Look on the underneath of the steering column and directly under the ignition switch you will see a round plastic molded plug, pry that out with a small screw driver (it comes out easily and you will NOT hurt anything).
Leave out the plastic plug then after driving the car all you have to do is shut off the ignition, tilt the steering column up (just like you do when you exit the car), then you take your right hand and put it at the bottom right of the column, right at the swivel point, there is a small access opening about 2 X 2 inches, you put your index and middle finger in there and flip the index finger upwards and your finger nail will go right up and touch against the the button switch, you push it with your fingernail (you wont hurt anything, button moves easy and it only presses in about 1/16' of an inch), then you can take fingers out of the access hole and then you can turn the ignition key the rest of the way off and remove it...I've did this for two years with my Grand Prix (I can't see paying $300 for a new solenoid and take the chance of it happening again)...some online sites show people removing the plug and putting the screw driver in the plug hole and pressing switch button up but after I saw the square access hole in mine I just started using my finger...oh and you won't even get your hands dirty doing this.

Creaking floors in apartment + fireboard under carpet

Hopefully by fire board" you actually mean 'floor board or sub-floor. Throughout the last century (and even prior to it), most sub floors where usually installed with nails and as a consequence, over time the nails are pried up with wear, creating the creaking sound you hear. today. In light of these issues sub-floors today are most often screwed down into the floor rafters with 2" to 3" screws. This is a difficult issue to resolve without redoing the floor or getting access through some of the spaces where the planks meet in order for you to make an insertion with a screw to make the improvement.

85 toy van 4cyl starts ok ....then stops gas ok etc

Didnt think a 85 model would have emmision controls ,well not a europeon version anyway ,this sort of fault could be anything and everything but try leaving the fuel cap loose in case the tank isnt breathing which will stop the fuel as a vacumn will build up in the tank .Could be the electronic ignition module getting hot just reading a fault from the haynes weekend mechanic manual is a waste of time as these books are written by so called technical writers who have never held a spanner in their hand in their life as this involves dirty dirt type work and it would ruin their social status to have grime under their finger nails

Bolt keeps coming out of harmonic balancer on mitsu montero 4 wheel dr 1999

I would suggest getting a new bolt and put loctite on the treads. It comes in 2 different kinds. One is if you need something like an imoact if you remove in the future the other is just basic and locks it but you are able to remove by hand in the future. I would use the heavy duty stuff is I were you, Also in the motormite section (the packages are red and say "Help" on them) carry's a thread sealant which is ok but i would go with the loctite since there may be some damge to the tread on the crank since it has come out a few times. I hope this helps and good luck.

Gas tank cover won't open

Stick something (like your wallet) under the lever then go to the gascap lid and open it with your fingers. Chances are the popper spring is stuck or has broken.
If you have a second pair of hands available - have them hold the lever for you.
