SOURCE: location of the egr sensor on 2000 ford ranger

The EGR pressure sensor is located within inches of the EGR valve. The exact location varies depending on the engine (2.5L, 3.0L or 4.0L). It is usually attached to the upper intake manifold with two small bolts.

I have a 97 ford exped 5.4 Triton v-8, replaced egr, PFE sensor, no vacuum leaks got rough idle, pluged both ends egr line, motor idles perfect, no missing/chk eng codes runs great. I am stumped?

On some early model Fords require programming of the electrical parts. If I'm not mistaken, There is an electrical connector that plugs into the EGR. You can call the local Ford dealership and ask about it but I'm pretty sure that's what needs to be done. Had an early model Ford Ranger come into the shop work in and found that out the hard way. I hope this helps you on getting correction for the problem at hand. Have a great wknd. Jesus loves you, John 3:16-17 (KJV)

I have a 1999 ford ranger and the check engine light is on. The code I received is P0402. What should I do to fix this problem?

P0402 is "EGR FLow Excessive Detected". The possible cause are a bad DPF EGR sensor, a bad EGRVR solenoid or possibly a bad PCM. The first thing to check is the wiring for breaks and be sure the connectors are clean and tight. Also check the vacuum lines for proper routing and that there are no breaks or cracks in them. I hope this helps and good luck.

Need location of the erg sensor 2000 ford ranger

The egr valve has two sensors. One is an EGR position sensor which is physically attached to the EGR valve. The other sensor is the DPFE (Delta Pressure Feedback EGR) sensor, commonly called the EGR pressure sensor. It's location varies depending on the engine you have. You can fine this sensor by following the vacuum hose on the EGR valve. It will be with in inches of the EGR valve. The sensor will be black (plastic) or silver (metal), have two or three vacuum ports and an electrical connection on it.

The vacuum pressure sensor is a high failure item on fords. Any Ford parts department will have one in stock, as well as some aftermarket parts stores.

The new sensor may not look exactly the same as the old part, but will have all the hook ups as the old one. You may also need to replace the vacuum hose to the sensor as well

P0401 code egr problem

Either the vacuum supply to the DPFE (Delta Pressure Feedback EGR) sensor has been compromised due to a disconnected or broken vacuum line, the electrical connection to the DPFE sensor has come off, or the DPFE sensor itself has gone bad. The sensors are such a high fail item that they are now available at aftermarket venues like NAPA and Auto-Zone.

Check your connection, if it's tight, check the vacuum hoses. There will be two or three depending on the style of your sensor. Regardless of the count, there will only be about a foot of hose to check. If the hose is bad, it will obviously need to be replaced, but it can't be standard vacuum/washer solvent hose due to the application. Your friendly Ford dealer has the hose in bulk. It a silicone compound type hose to better resist the heat. I

f the hose is OK, then the DPFE needs to be replaced. Prepare to shell out around $80 to $100 depending on your particular application. If the new one looks different than the old one, it's OK as long as it has the same number of vacuum ports and the electrical connector is the same.
