A Chevrolet silveraddo 2004 2500 heavy duty and the gauges gas,rpms,oil temperature are not working?

The issue is your gauge cluster needs to be rebuilt/repaired. the stepper motors fail inside. THe cluster gets it's information over the CAN bus (network). If the gas gauge, temp, and speedometer work, then you can bet that it is getting a good signal from the PCM and that the fault is in the cluster itself. THere are guys that repair the clusters either locally or by mail order.

replace the engine coolant temp sensor

If all voltages checked ok,then most probably its faulty instrument cluster board on which gauges are connected.Yes if cluster circuit board looks ok,then also it can be faulty.Somewhere there is minute short or burn on board then such prolem arises.
Also check the fuse box.One under hood and other under dash.Inspect each and every fuse and see if all are fine or not.

I had the same issue was told it was the voltage regulator so i bought a new alternator and issue was fixed, No longer does it, do your headlights dim right down at 3500 RPM's

Have the various systems scanned and see if they show a fault code, I suspect they will. As far as the gauges go that sounds like the rebuilder screwed up.

Check the temp sending unit, and then fuses.

Have the computer checked

sounds like your missing a ground somewhere.

your gage cluster had more than likely quit working I had the same think happen to my 2005 cavalier . Luckly it was under warranty but the said if it would have been it would of have been around $230.00
