SOURCE: radiator fan not working replaced relay, temp

Check the wiring from the relay to the fan motor, and check the wiring from the fuse block. Basically check all wires that supply power to the fan motor, use a volt meter. Fan Relay (behind headlight, under battery) on the 2001 GC 4.0L are a piece of ****, I change mine almost yearly. The problem is their location, a high heat area prone to the elements. I understand that 2002 and newer, the location was changed and the problem solved. Relay might close the circuit when cold or at reasonable temps, but might open a circuit when it heats up, causing the problem.

SOURCE: LOCATION FAN RELAY

The relay is under the right front headlamp assembly and bracket. You can access it two ways. Remove the front bumper facia, headlights, and bracket assembly. The grill is part of the facia and the headlight bracket runs all the way across the front. Or you can remove the right headlamp and use a hole saw to cut through the bracket, it is a plastic material.

SOURCE: Vehicle needs to purge all the air form the radiator. Jeep Grand

Run engine normally while filling radiator. Leave heater on high heat. When engine temp reads normal, shut it off, wait about three minutes...re-start and complete filling.

My jeep is overheating. I have changed the radiator. radiator fan, relay, coolant temperature sensor, thermostat, and fan relay and still the jeep overheats, What else can I do?

have a repair shop do a "block test" this test will test the cooling system for combustion gases. If gases are present, you may have head gasket or cyl head leakage.

2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee- fan that sits closest to radiator

Have you tested the fan sending unit on the engine? disconnect that and if the fan runs (Key on) that is most likely the problem.

Fan won't come on

RADIATOR FAN WORKS OFF OF THE COOLANT SENSOR NOT THE IAT SENSOR. CHECK YOUR RELAYS AND ALSO SEE IF IT COMES ON WITH THE A/C AS THIS OVERIDES THE COOLANT SENSOR FOR THE FAN. MOST LIKELY CAUSE WOULD BE A FAN RELAY
