1994 Plymouth Acclaim 3.0L How can I tell my water pump is going or is gone? Does it have a weep hole, where would I see the coolant leaking from if it was from the weep hole?

95-2001 plymouth voyager water pump

For all dodge minivans 94 to 2001 (and others) with 3.0 ltr V-6. You're driving on the freeway your temp gauge starting to go up. You get off the freeway. when the engine is cooled down you discover that the coolant in gone. You refill the radiator and look for a leak but can't find one. You check the oil but its not foamy, so no coolant there. If all seems to be operating normally, check under the vehicle when the engine is warmed up. There may be a slight coolant leak on the passenger side near the front tire .When the water pump on these engines typically coolant will leak out of the pump thru a "weep hole" located at the bottom of the pump. Most of the loss occurs while driving so your only indication may be that small drip of coolant. The water pump is powered by the camshaft timing belt and is located under the timing belt cover and can not be seen, however any coolant leak, no matter how small, in the area just to the rear of the crankshaft pulley is almost surely a failed water pump and must be addressed immediately

My 2001 Plymouth leaks coolant got to add bout twice a week been doing it 2 weeks now it doesn't run hot is it the water pump going out

check the engine for where the water is leaking. I had an engine leaking at the back side and it was corroded
Welsh plugs in the engine. If it was the water pump water it would be leaking out the water pump. Check Hoses with engine hot . Also check exhaust pipe is not blowing steam out from a blown head gasket.

Loosing coolant not a lot and motor does not overheat is it the water pump

Water pumps usually leak coolant at their bottom "weep hole" when they go bad. Any coolant drips from the front of your engine? That would almost surely be the water pump. If you can't tell where any leaks are, have a pressure test done- that should show where the coolant is leaking or being lost.

Have very poor heat in my 1992 plymouth acclaim don't know why

That can be caused by a number of things. It could be a bad engine coolant thermostat. It could be low engine coolant due to a leak. It could be a clogged-up heater core. It could be a bad water pump. It could be a blown head gasket....the problem needs to be diagnosed before anyone can tell you exactly WHY you have poor heat. (Although many may try to GUESS and tell you to just start replacing parts without any diagnosis.)

Have a subaru 1992 impreza wrx its leaking water heard it is the water pump can you tell me where abouts is the water pump or does the water pump have a gasgett on it

The water pump will have a pulley attached to it with at least one belt running through the pulley. It will be the one item that does not seem to do anything under the hood (it may have the cooling fan attached but I don't know your make/model) You can tell if the pump is leaking because it has a small hole at the top of the shaft where the pulley connects and coolant will appear at the "weep hole" if it is going bad. There is a gasket at the point where the pump joins to the engine block but those rarely go bad by themselves.

IF CAR OVERHEATING WHILE IDLING YOUR COOLING FANS NOT WORKING CHECK COOLING FANS FUSE AND RELAYS.IF FUSE AND RELAYS OKAY THE ENGINECOOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR BAD.

Slow Leak in Water Pump-1999 Plymouth Voyager

What's probably happening is the weep hole on the water pump is leaking water. The weep hole is a warning sign that the water pump needs replaced. You don't have any heat because the impeller in the water pump is no longer circulating water.
