SOURCE: how to change 2005 chevrolet equinox back spark plugs

With all due respect for the opinion - I suggest you will do it better working from the underside for the 3 on the rear of engine.
Four points in your story motivated me to try from the underside (and I just finished the job without any hicups):
- mechanics suggested from the underside
- 130 lb sitting in the engine compartment will likely damage or crack something
- removing the distributor should not be needed
I drove the car with the front wheels on a pair of inclines to get more clearance underneath, secured it, then squezed from the front between the wheels. A good thin flurescent light can fit from the bottom up to help you see what you're doing.
The boots from the spark plugs I removed without much effort, then with fingertips I felt the exact place of the plugs. I fit a short 3" extension over the socket, then squeezed the handle and started turning. All theree came out without problems (before removing completely I also squeezed the extension pipe of a can of compressed air and blew air to clean around the plugs).
You need to "see" with your fingers and remember how the plugs are inclined to fit the new ones, but otherwise is just a little exhausting that you have to be a contortionist and find a good position (something to raise your head while working underneath, like a cardboard box would be useful).
So the bottom line is that it works as well from the bottom and don't have to remove anything else.

SOURCE: eng. shakes spits/sputters oil in spark plugs

I just had this fixed on my suby today. The cause is that the spark plugs, go through the valve covers on the 2.5 l .When the o rings in the cover go, the result is oil in the spark plugs. The cost of the repair in Canada was about $500 including diagnostics as well as new plugs and wires About 1.5 hours labor and new seals and gaskets. It now runs like new. This is a common problem for this subaru engine as well as for the dodge neon.

SOURCE: whaT IS THE EASIEST WAY TO CHange the back spark

The easiest way to change the back plugs on a GM V6 is to pay someone else to do it. You need good light, good tools, lots of various extensions, swivels, and universals. A good vocabulary of curse words also comes in handy.

How do I replace spark plugs and wires on chevrolet equinox 2011 2.4 liter front wheel drive

First, I think it highly unlikely that a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox would be due for spark plugs yet. They only have to be changed every 100,000 miles.

Second, you could spend the rest of your life trying to change the spark plug wires on that vehicle and never accomplish it. 2011 Chevrolet Equinox is not equipped with spark plug wires.

Then, if the spark plugs were somehow in need of replacement at this time, I highly recommend that you do not try this at home unless you have access to compressed air to clean the debris out of the spark plug tubes. Otherwise, severe engine damage can occur. (I have replaced many cylinder heads because of DIYers attempting to change their own spark plugs without the proper methods and equipment.)

With all that said, you must remove the ignition coils to get to the spark plugs.

What all do i need to change when doing a tune up for a chevy 2005 equniox

Just basically spark plugs and an air filter. The plugs don't need replacement until 100,000 miles. The fuel filter is located inside the fuel pump assembly in the gas tank and is not serviceable. It doesn't require a PCV valve and there are no adjustments available for the throttle body, idle or timing.

Hi. My 2007 Chevy Equinox has had four spark plug replacements since I purchased it in 2007. The fuel injector has been replaced once. Any ideas?

WOW! either you drive a lot of miles or you've been getting ripped-off. The orignal spark plugs are good for at least 100,000 miles. It's possible that you did have a faulty injector all-along and they didn't idenifiy the problem right away. If they have been installing the wrong [ cheap ] plugs then the plugs won't last long. Hope this isn't a Dealer, if it is, I'd call the GM 800 number and complain.

Car problem

What does your spark plug look like when you took it out? Was it black/fouled out? If so, you may have bad rings on that piston/cylinder allowing crankcase oil into your cyclinder, thus fouling out your plug.
