SOURCE: car slips out of gear after the engine warms up

Ok this is an internal transmission problem, the 1st thing to do is check the fluid level in the trans, do this only on a HOT transmission otherwise you will overfill the trans and damage it more, if the fluid is full and clean then the trans will need to be torn down, but this does sound like a low fluid level problem.

PLEASE RATE THIS SOLUTION, THANKS

SOURCE: I have a 2009 Honda pilot. has a tapping noise when in reverse.

VTM 4 is a traction control system designed for better traction and fuel efficiency. I'd get it back to the dealer ASAP. There seems to be a coil malfunction in the rear axle. I'd make them fully check out the rear axle in addition to checking out the coil sensors themselves. Best of luck to you!

SOURCE: Looking to replace honda pilot knock sensor

These knock sensors are hard to get into. If thats a V6 it is underneath the intake manifold. make sure you cover the intake port when you take it apart, so a screw or a bolt don't accidentally drops in there.

SOURCE: the check engine lights and vtm-4 lights of my 2003 honda pilot alway stays on after i went for an automatic car wash. and after a day or two mostly if i ran it on the higheay check engine and vtm-4 l

Apparently what has most likely happened is you were on a wet or ice road and may have lost traction on the road. You may have never even noticed, but your vehicle did. The vehicle compensated for the road condition & probably revved the engine a little to low, which probably turned on the check engine light. This is a scenario only.

The best way to find out what's wrong is to have the computer scanned for trouble codes. The trouble code will point to the problem. Several auto parts stores will do this for free or rent you a scanner so you can scan it yourself. If the code isn't obvious or you need more help you can come back here and I'll walk you through figuring it out.

It also could be you need to change the rear differential fluid. There was a TSB for this vehicle. I am not sure if your vehicle falls into it. You could check with the dealer as well.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

My husband said that the VTM-4 light is on in his 2001 Acura MDX. We were on our way to the transmission shop because the transmission is being rebuilt. What causes this light to come on?

the VTM-4 relates to torque management for the 4 wheel drive / all wheel drive part of the transmission. I have had people tell me more than once that that VTM-4 issue went away after having the cylinder head valves adjusted.
A little google search may back this up.

Check Engine Light, VSC Light Flashing VSC OFF Off Light. Error Code-P0776 Pressure Control Solenoid B Performance or Stuck off. What do I need to repair this.

You need a transmission repair shop to drive this and perform a diagnosis but my gut says you are going to need a rebuild of the transmission. Do not drive this is you think the transmission is slipping it will burn up the clutch pack and then you will absolutely need it rebuilt, about a $4000.00 repair.

M vtm-4 light and check engine are on what to do?

check all oil and water levels. run the fault codes to find what put the light on. Remember it could also be a transmission problem so check transmission oil level.

My check engine light and vtm light are on in my 2008 Honda Pilot I checked the codes it's saying the egr valve is bad would that cause the Vtm light to come on to

Yes, the VTM-4 module will light up.

Here's the deal; when you manually turn on the Variable Torque Management-4 system, the light to the console switch is illuminated- letting you know that the vehicle is in traction control mode- and it is functioning properly.

However, if you did not manually activate the VTM, and your cruising along under normal driving conditions, but you start experiencing engine problems, like when the Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve starts to malfunction, this malfunction will cause the engine to misfire and lose engine power.

When this loss of engine power occurs, the VTM perceives that the engine power is being reduced to restore traction to the car's drive line (axle and wheels)- so it triggers the light to go on.

The triggering of the VTM could also happen when the idle speed control valve malfunctions.

So once you have the EGR valve replaced, the codes on the OBD module should be cleared; the check engine light will turn off; and the VTM system light will turn off too.

Have a warninig sign comes on . It says VT4. What

If it says VTM-4 that is your VTM-4 indicator:

This indicator normally comes on for a few seconds when you turn the ignition switch to ON (II). If this indicator comes on at any other time, there is a problem in the 4WD system. Have your vehicle checked by a dealer.

The Variable Torque Management 4WD System (VTM-4) automatically transfers varying amounts of engine torque to the rear wheels under lower traction conditions.

You can try the following:

To Disengage the VTM-4 Lock, do one of the following:

1. Press the VTM-4 Lock button.

2. Move the shift lever to D or D .

3. Turn the ignition to LOCK (0).

The VTM-4 Lock will temporarily disengage when the vehicle speed exceeds 18 mph (30 km/h). It will automatically engage again as the speed slows below 18 mph (30 km/h). The button light will remain on.

Hope this helps you understand the light. If not, leave a comment and I will try to help you further.
