i think you have metal shavings on the abs wheel sensor. did you go metal to metal on the brakes? new caliper right? disconect the battery for 10 mins that should do it. first clean that sensor off it might reset itself good luck

SOURCE: ABS alarming after I replaced rear brakes shims, bled brakes etc.

try rebleeding the brakes. any air whatsoever will set off the abs light sometimes it takes a few times to get it all out even though they feel good. also make sure the fluid is full that will also set off the light.

SOURCE: 2001 GMC SIERRA . ABS LIGHT STAYS ON

Wheel speed sensors misadjusted, damaged , or metal shavings and other debree, since they are magnetic can give false readings from one of the wheel circuits. Over sized tires can give of false speed readings as well. there are many other causes including bad relay, control module, e.t.c. It is best to have the proper scan tool to diagnose an ABS problem

SOURCE: 2000 gmc sierra 1500 5.3 v8. a/c heater control problem

your heat/cool and vent selection options are controlled by engine vacuum through small clear tubes attached to the rear of your climate control interface. Other vehicles have small steel pull wires that operate the desired changes. You might try removing the trim and any fasteners affiliated with the interface/console. GENTLY pull outward and look to see if any of these tubes are pulled off or cut/damaged. Did anyone recently install a new stereo in the vehicle? If so, the vacuum tubing and or pull wires that change your outlets could have been damaged when the stereo unit was pushed into place. Hope this helps

I replaced main brake line on driver side on 2000 1500 Dodge Ram pick up blead all brakes at each caliper no air present. Driven around six hour but abs and brake light still on.

If there is an ABS issue it will turn on the red brake light as well. Were these lights on before the repair? You can try disconnecting the battery to see if the ABS resets. If the lights come back on you will have to have a scan test performed on the ABS system to isolate the problem

2002 mercury sable brake light on replaced pads and checked fluids

With the vehicle off, turn the key to the on position and see if there is an ABS light (usually yellow/amber). If so, the brake light is related to the emergency brake and the rear calipers aren't done correctly. If no ABS light, the brake light is most likely the indicator for the ABS system. a sensor is most likely unplugged, damaged or just knocked out of calibration with the ABS drum.

Replaced rear pads and shoes but abs light is still on. Tracking control is now not functioning correctly. I read the manual and it says if lamp remains lit will not work proberly which inturn disengages...

you can try to bleed the brakes at all the calipers several times until the fluid is clean coming out the bleeder screws.it sounds like when you pushed the pistons back into the calipers you pushed dirt back through the system and has lodged in the abs hydraulic unit causing the light to come on.you say the abs light is still on does this mean it was on before you replaced the brakes.if so then you had a code in the abs controller that should have been checked before and repaired.when the abs sets code it automatically shuts down the traction control and all wheel drive because of the abs light being on.

Turned rotors and replaced pads now it locks up why on 99 jimmy

Providing you do not have an ABS or Brake light.Either you have a leak, ( which should have set off a brake light) the calipers are defective, the rubber hoses leading to the calipers are so worn that they are deteriorating from the inside and are causing a blockage., or the fluid needs to be replaced and the system must be bled.

ABS light would come on and brakes would pulse only when turning left coming to a stop. Otherwise brakes worked fine. Fluid level good. Pads were only half worn but went ahead and replaced pads on all four...

This is your hub assembly that needs to be replaced. My ABS light has been on for a while and I've had this happen before and went away after I replaced it. DEFINITELY try to do it yourself since the part is only $100, to save $400 in labor at a shop.

ABS braking

have you check? the master cylinder. sometine when you get the rotors cut they dont come out right because they may be warped or to thin. if you did the job yourself you might have put the calipers in on the wrong side. this happens alot . if your rotors front and rear are fine then switch the calipers to the other side.
