Motor stalls when driving then starts and stalls right away.

300 six 1978 f150 4x4,start the truck -starts good then stalls, start again it fires but stalls right away.does this about 10 to 20 times, then runs -get going and it will stall again.Once the motor is warmed up it runs great. But if you shut down a leave it about half an hour you go through the same thing again. We changed the carb with a brand new one, also a brand new fuel pump and a brand new fuel filter. The motor has about 6500 km. since replace. The only other thing I can think of is the spark control box or the distributor shaft.Any suggestions????

Replace the distributor's magnetic pickup located inside the distributor surrounding the distributor shaft, the only other thing thankfully on this ignition system if memory serves me on the f 150 straight six 300 cu inch is the dura spark ignition control box, of course do the obvious tune up parts replacement dist.cap rotor, plug , sparkplugs before spending the $40.00 - $50.00 bucks on the dist.. pick up, you may have a weak a fuel pump check for adequate fuel pressure at carb 7 - 10 lbs.

Car runs perfect then starts missing real bad then stalls

Not unusual for fuel pumps to begin to fail once they are heated up from running. First thing in the morning pump is cool, then as you drive, it heats up and begins to lose pressure. After sitting a 1/2hr-1hr, it may start again and run fine for a short time and start to act up again. Had similar problem and found good fuel pressure when tank and pump cool, but lost pressure once vehicle driven a distance and pump heated up. The hotter the weather, the shorter the distance I could drive. If you can somehow set it up to have fuel pressure checked when it starts to act up, that would certainly help confirm if fuel pressure is the culprit.

Starts but stalls right away

Have you checked your fuel pressure? Could be the fuel pressure regulator. Hard to say without a year and model of the jeep.

1991 Ford F150 starts for an instant then stalls

my dad used to say you need two things to start a motor; gas and fire. Check these and make sure they are both good. You have to go through the steps from there. Could be a fuel filter. could be bad plugs. etc. etc... Hope it helps.
