The speed sensor is located on the outside of the transmission case, it has a wire connector going to it. There are other sensors called turbine speed sensors and they are located inside the transmission. It all depends on what problem you have.

Toyotas have an "Ignitor" inside the distributor. They go out often. The ignitor is not available by itself. You have to buy a complete distributor assembly. A remanufactured one usually runs around $100.
Oil filter on a 2000 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner with 6 cylinder IS a screw on filter located on the drivers side front of the engine (just beneath the alternator).
Can't recall the size but, you need a socket with extension to get to the bolts holding the skid pan then, wiggle/lift it from it's hooks. Then, you can either cuss, cuss, cuss while removing the old and installing the new OR, jack the drivers side up 4 to 6 inches ( gives you a bit more wiggle room and keeps you from scraping your elbow to the bone on whatever surface you're working on).
Even then, be ready for a good cussing bout because there still isn't much room.
