Pull a plug to check and see if they are wet. also check temp sensor signal through a scanner to see the actual temp reported to the computer.

This sounds like a fuel pump problem and you would need to check fuel pressure while it is happining to verify to repair you would need to replace the fuel pump assm. and to do this you will need to drop the tank to gain access to the pump. But as I said you will need to verify it first.

SOURCE: 1991 Jeep Fuel Control Issue

Hey Mudkicker,

Who ever thought of putting an electric fuel pump inside a tank of gas........

Check your other gauges for accuracy. They do that when a ground is loose.

Check the wiring from the fuel tank along the longitudinal frame for frays and shorts. Plugs are secured.

Under the hood, passenger side, check the fuel pump relay. Switch it with one of the others to test it.

Bring the vehicle to an auto parts store. Ask them to break out he code reader. Check for diag codes

hi, normally the FUEL PUMP, FUEL FILTER , FUEL REGULATOR at the back under the car near the front of the FUEL TANK. the FUEL FILTER HAS A ARROW and must go FROM THE TANK TO THE ENGINE. if you put it the WRONG WAY AROUND the car will NOT RUN PROPERLY. THE FUEL REGULATOR HAS A SPRING LOADED VALVE AND RETURN PIPE to the tank. THE FUEL PUMP HAS A ARROW TOO. from the tank to the engine. gerry

2000 Chrysler Sebring Conv. Side mirrors and a/c not working. What would cause this

Side mirrors may be a wiring issue possibly near the driver door area where it would come from the door into the A pillar to under the dash, sometimes from age and door operation the wires break inside that harness.AC issue would need to be checked by a certified AC tech to check for leaks and operation, could also be a electrical issue or low on freon from a leak.

04 sebring lx 2.4 16 valve dohc. While driving the oil filter came loose causing all the oil to leak out.Car quit running.Got the car home .Engine is NOT seized.tightened filter good added oil.Car wont...

It is possible that there is a safety shutoff which would shut the engine down in the event that the computer saw a loss of oil pressure. Tightening the filter and adding the correct amount of oil should correct the problem after several seconds of cranking to restore oil pressure throughout the engine. There may however be a fault code stored in the computer which will need to be reset before the engine can be started again. Sometimes a professional grade scanner is needed to scan the vehicle and reset the codes. Cheaper code readers don't always show everything. If the vehicle has any sort of variable valve timing, it will most likely be controlled by oil pressure and there will be several sensors which can be confused and may cause a no start symptom. In most cases, an engine can run without oil for about 5-10 seconds before damage starts to occur. Spark and fuel present while cranking should definitely allow the engine to start unless there is a major timing issue which would be controlled by the computer. Make sure the cam and crank sensors are in sync with each other.

Hello, Car will start until warm then shut off then won't start again until cool then same thing happens over again

As with any no start issue you will need to figure out if you are dealing with a no spark or no fuel problem to proceed. Check the plugs for spark and the fuel pressure the next time it will not start.
Could be a faulty relay, ignition module, coil or other electrical component.

Will not start it cranks but thats it. got it to start once and it just sputtered untill it stalled i did the key on-off-on-off-on and got the code "donE"

check the fuel pressure, or you can shot alittle starting fluid in the air breather and if it starts your fuel pump is bad, but check fuses first

2005 chrysler sebring..car starts then dies...gas tank is almost full. help...what can this be?

Sounds like either a fuel pump problem, clogged injectors, clogged fuel filters, or a tune up issue. Start fixing the cheapest stuff first - the clogged fuel filters and injectors. Then check the tune-up specs, wires, and sparkplugs of your car to make sure everything is in order. Also, make sure your car's air filter is fine and air is getting to your engine. Finally, check the fuel pump. And dont think you always have to replace your fuel pump -- the wire to the pump may simply be loose or corroded. Good luck...
