P2299-BRAKE PEDAL POSITION / ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION INCOMPATIBLE

Set Condition:
The PCM recognizes a brake application following the APPS showing a fixed pedal opening. Temporary or permanent. Internally the PCM will reduce throttle opening below driver demand. One trip fault and the code will be set within 5 seconds. ETC light will illuminate, the light will only stay illuminated while DTC is active.

Possible Causes

DRIVER PRESSING ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THEN PRESSING BRAKE PEDAL, AND CONTINUES TO HOLD THEM DOWN SIMULTANEOUSLY

STOP LAMP SWITCH

APP SENSOR

The most likely cause of this DTC is Brake Torquing the engine by pressing the Accelerator pedal and the pressing the Brake Pedal.

SOURCE: 2005 GMC Sierra Overheating

If your sure there is no trapped air in system after refill and air bleed off, is fan clutch pulling good air thru radiator? Even if it is, the heater should have coolant as hot as what temp gage is showing! Try backwards flushing heater core (dex cool is notorious for plugging these up). There is a TSB for cracked cylinder heads from GM for unexplained coolant loss.Remove drivers side valve cover, and look at center three head bolts for coolant around them, if coolant has been getting in thru this suspect area, there will be a milky/pudding like goo under valve cover and on head. GM had a company called Castec cast these and the areas near the head bolts were found to be too porous (NO recall YET!) Ya, you guessed it, replace heads! Unfortunately, if its gotten hot to many times, it has probably hurt the heads/gaskets. Hope this helps. PS: The castec logo is under the rearmost pair of rocker arms, may have to remove them to see.

SOURCE: Fuel filter location Sierra

I have been told by a mechanic that the fuel filter is inside the fuel tank. Have to either drop the tank or remove the pickup bed. Access is on the top of the tank. This is poor engineering.

SOURCE: 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 - heater blows, but only cold air

Check coolant level. Check for heat at the heater hose going from water pump to heater core at firewall. Check to see that cable is moving coolant control valve from the closed to open position. Low mileage so it shouldn't be plugged heater core.

Testimonial: "You were absolutely correct. Low coolant level. Put in some 50/50 and we're nice and toasty now, but need to find out why coolant was so low. Thanks."

Not enough fuel pressure. Or the injectors are too small. I would lean to the injectors and the fuel you use.

How do i bypass the governer?

you have to get a programmer such as a hypertech max energy product. and you have to get one specific to the model of your car. there are many different brands but that should get you in the right direction. http://www.hypertech.com/products-results.aspx. remember the govener is set to the speed rating of your tires.

I installed a Hypertech tuner on my 03 Silverado with a 4.8 L but i have to run 93 octane with it set at 87 tune and it still pings

those reprogramming devises are a joke, yes it pings cause youll either have to spend endless hours with a machine youll need to buy separately or you could take the easy route get the computer reflashed through the dealer with the money you get selling that thing, i recently ordered a diablosport and cant wait to get rid of it . good luck

Would like to power chip my 2000 f150 4.6 how?

You could chip it. but that would mean performing sergery on your thousand plus daller computer. I would suggest investing in a hypertech programer their are others on the market but hypertech is what i used on my 2000 silverado and it has pleanty of power now. You should fined one at summitracing.com. Their really simple to use. You just plug it into the obd2 port under the drivers side dash and answer yes and no questions. I would keep the transmission setings stock and let the program due its thing on the motor. After you program the truck let it sit and run for a good 15 minutes the start and stop the motor a few times to let the motor get use to the new program before u put it under load. I hope the suggestion help.

Can't find Nav fuse

I have a 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD Duramax and use the HyperTech software also. I assume you are talking about the installation instructions for HyperTech where it tells you to remove the ONStar and Radio fuse. Look in the owners manual for the fuse box layout under the hood. On mine, it's in the Duramax book and the only fuse that applies is the one listed for the Audio System. You will need to reset your clock when finished.
