Check the circuit for the crank position sensor or cam shaft sensors

make sure you can turn engine over by the crank bolt this will make sure engine is free and not bound up. if it will turn then check wiring at starter make sure everything is tight.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. I went through the same thing as you are. It won't stay running or won't start at all. Have they rules out a fuel issue? It could be the fuel pump, filter, or fuel injectors. What they have said to you is true. Anyone of them parts can cause this. Do you have a check engine light on? If so, you need to have it scanned. It may show your problem on the code tester. The computer rarely goes out and I would save that for last. You should be able to look at the timing belt yourself. It has a protective cover, actually a few. You want to take off the top one that is in front. It should only have a screw or two. Take it off and then you can see the timing belt. Make sure it is not broke, tearing, or slipping when you crank the car. If it is an electrical issue, you could be in trouble. They are hard to find and hard to test for. If so, it is better to put it on a machine at a shop. You need to make sure you have spark at the spark plugs/coils. It sounds like they are telling you the truth Neil. does it run ok or is it misfiring ? why did you change the chain

I would guess you have to go back over your work
with regards to the timing chain & cam gear settings
If your at a professional shop, they can look at various data,
to get an idea if timing is an issue since that work was just
done
