knock sensor is located under the intake manifold in front of the starter. what codes did you have?
SOURCE: knock sensor location
The knock Sensors are located under the Intake Manifold at the top of your engine. The top will have to be taken off along with the intake manifold. Knock Sensors in past silverados used to have a problem with leaking water that corroded the sensors from washing the engine. Most times when you go to replace the knock sensor you will have to replace both along with the wiring harness that includes the the gaskets the knock sensors are surrounded by. After that you have to check the resistance to make sure you dont have any problems and then reinstall all parts along with a new intake manifold gasket. A good mechanic can do this for you in a day and charge you around $400. If you try to go to some place like a chevy dealer you will pay over $800. This is from experience of just replacing mine 2 weeks ago.

Under intake manifold on top of block, you need to remove intake to access sensors there are two of them you can't miss them when intake is off. After replacing sensors you need a new intake gasket.

A very common proplem with this engine is the coil packs sit on top of the spark plugs with a approx 4 inch boot to the spark plug. Especially when there is wet weather moisture will get the the spark plug hole and when the vehicle gets up to temp the moisture will atomize and ground out the spark plug. Sometimes it will not even need to get hot and once it starts missing won't go away.
You will need to run a scan to determine which hole is misfiring. Then disconnect that coil and remove the one small bolt retaining itand pull it up out of the hole. Then take compressed air and blow out the bottom of the hole to dry it out. Re-install coil and your problem should have gone away. If you have a scanner sometimes just clearing the codes and the miss will go away. Be careful taking it to a shop as most shops will just sell you with the fact that you have a bad coil and have it fixed in the process of selling you and installing a new coil of hey maybe they will just blow it out and seeing as it's fixed you now buy into the fact that they replaced a "bad coil". That is not to say that sometimes it is just a bad coil and nothing else will fix it.
v8 triton is the same motor as the v10 with just 2 more cylinders so v10 or 5.4 same thing will apply.

VSS Sensor
The Vehicle Speed (VSS) Sensor input is used by the PCM to determine vehicle speed. The VSS generates a signal that increases in frequency proportionate to vehicle speed. The PCM has a base frequency stored in memory for a distance of one mile. By comparing the input and stored value, the PCM calculates vehicle speed.
VSS types include: photo-optic, permanent magnet generators or hall effect technology. The PCM may use other sensors on the vehicle (ABS Wheel Speed) to validate VSS operation.
VSS information is used to calculate vehicle loads including: torque converter application, cruise control, fuel cutoff/speed governance strategies, instrument panel speedometer and more.
Modified drivetrain components such as final gear sets and/or tires can alter VSS input values to the PCM. Improper signals can alter Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) application, shift points, cruise control operation as well as many other systems relying on vehicle speed input.

To avoid personal injury and/or vehicle damage, refer to the service precautions at the beginning of this section.

The Speedometer may not work due to a break in the wire for the VSS, or a bad VSS or a bad instrument cluster.
