I DON'T KNOW. SUGGEST YOU MAKE SURE HAND BRAKE OR PARKING BRAKE IS FULLY OFF, ALSO
CHECK TO SEE IF BRAKE FLUID IS NOT TOO LOW.
CHECK ELECTRIC CONNECTOR AT BRAKE FLUID
RESERVOIR.

SOURCE: battery voltage is very high when driving over 14

Voltage regulator is going bad. Have alternator tested or go ahead and have it replaced. Also this would be a good time to have the battery tested. Usually an alternator that is over charging will "cook" the battery causing it to not charge, not hold a charge, to losing the gel/electrolyte solution due to boil out.

Why does my battery keep dying in my audi 1997 a6? When it's running and the fan kicks on the voltage meter jumps down. When the lights are on and then fan kicks on my lights dim.

The battery seems to have reached end of design life. Replace. Also check charging system for voltage. With engine idling check voltage at battery terminals. It should be about 14 volts.

I changed the battery, Battery ends and still the battery light and the brake light stays on???

If the battery light is on than there is a problem with the charging system, not the battery. With the vehicle running check the voltage at the battery. There should be around 14 volts if there is less tha. 13 volts than the charging system is not working. Have you checked the brake fluid level in the reservoir?

93 nissan pathfinder charging problems

check for voltage at the battery with the engine running. You should see 14 plus volts. Now turn on the lights, bower motor, and whatever else you can to put the maximum draw on the battery. If the voltage drops below 13 volts the alternator is bad.

Hi there.
You must have a drain some where.
Make sure the brake light are NOT staying on. if they are, it will drain the battery. this is due to faulty brake light switch.
I think the ESP light is related to the brake light switch.

these warning lights are an indication that your alternator is not producing output voltage.in very rare instances it is a supply circuit problem to the alternator but 9 out of 10 the failure is the alternator itself.best bet would be to have a charging system test performed to confirm.hope this helps.please let me know.

I just put in a new battery and alternator and my

First step is to check the voltage of the charging system. Should be around 12 volts when engine not running , 14 volts when engine is running.
If these test out OK then your warning light is the problem. Could also be a poor connection or broken wire at the alternator. Alternator must be grounded to work , but if it wasn't , the light would probably not come on.

The battery light went on and the brake light went on

Sounds like an alternator problem[not charging]To test just get a dc volt meter and check the battery voltage at idle with the engine running[should be between 13.2 and 14.5 volts.if its under 12 volts then the alternator is not charging the battery and it will have to be removed for repair.

97 nissan sentra with brake and battery light staying lit after changing battery. when it goes into passing gear light goes off then comes back on

These lights will come on if your alternator isn't charging fully. With a multi meter test your voltage at the battery with the engine running. The voltage should be above 14 volts. If it is below 14 you will need to replace the alternator.

With a volt meter and the engine at idle, check the voltage at the battery. It should always be just over 12 up to 14 volts. At idle with no accessorys on (lights, fan, radio ect.) The voltage should stay just over 12 volts. As you turn on all the accessorys the voltage should rise up to between 12-14 volts.
Also, a new battery needs to be fully charge before use. Most new batterys sit on the shelf and lose charge. My last new battery needed 8 hours of chargeing to be fully charged.
I hope this helps.
