Question about Nissan Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Okay so I purchased a 2013 Nissan Sentra SV six months after owning the vehicle the intelligent key would only turn on the vehicle. The keyless entry, power locks and power trunk would not work using the key fob. So I replaced the battery and it would still not work. I purchased a new key fob and had it programmed to the car and it is still not working. There is no fuse for the keyless entry. The manual buttons for the locks inside the car are working fine. So now I am trying to locate the keyless entry receiver and antenna?

SOURCE: 2004 Chevy Impala Keyless Entry System Stopped Working

HOPE THIS HELPS YOU MIGHT WANT TO REPROGRAM THAT KEYLESS ENTRY FOB.. JERRY
. Turn the ignition to ACC or ON and the radio to off. Do not crank the engine.

2. Press and hold the DISP button on the radio for at least five seconds until settings is displayed.

3. Press the SEEK up or down arrows until FOB PROG appears on the display.

4. Press the PREV or NEXT button to enter the submenu. The current selection will have an
asterisk next to it. BEGIN will be displayed.

5. Press the DISP button to start programming. When the message PUSH FOB flashes, press and
hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the first transmitter at the same time for 15 seconds. A
chime will be heard to verify the transmitter is learned.

6. Repeat Step 5 for each additional transmitter up to four remotes total. You do not need to press
the DISP button again, just press down the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the next transmitter
to be learned to a maximum of four transmitters per vehicle.

The mode you selected is now set. You can either exit the programming mode by following the instructions later in this section or program the next feature available on your vehicle.

EXIT (Exit Feature Customization Mode): This feature allows you to exit the vehicle customization programming.
To Exit:
1. Scroll until EXIT appears on the display.
2. Press the DISP button to exit programming. A chime will he heard to verify the exit.

SOURCE: Car will not unlock.

To get inside the car .... Use the key in the lock cylinder, unlock the drivers door to get inside. You shouldn't have to reprogram the fob unless it or the keyless module was changed. There may be a blown fuse that supplies the keyless control module (check the owners manual for location). or wires that lead into the Drivers door may be damaged ... The keyless module is located inside the drivers door at the bottom behind the door panel ... do the unlock/lock and trunk release switches on the inside of the drivers door operate the locks and or trunk release? If so it is not the fuse ... and not the wires to it ... And it could be your BCM body control module, located in the dash board to right of your gas petal. Because the number entry keypad (code for that is on the inside of the right passenger trunk bracket arm) also doesn't work I assume it's not the key fobs themselves. Your 98 manual is correct for your car.

Why doesn't my 2013 Nissan Sentra recognize the FOB? Says FOB "not detected" when its in my hand. Is this a dead battery in the FOB? how do I get this fixed?

Does the key fob open the and close the door? If it does the battery is fine.

This seems to be a known problem. Move the fob closer to the Start Button.

2005 Nissan Sentra, the keyless entry locks the doors but does not unlock them.

does your unlock button work in car? If it does, do you have another keyless entry key fob? If so does it work? If you just replaced the battery you can try removing battery and cleaning contacts within remote. I know some of the nissan altimas had the same issue and the only solution was a new key fob. Good Luck

you need to contact either the dealer and provide VIN# and proof you own vehicle OR call a locksmith and they can come out to you - again you need to prove you own the vehicle.
