WHAT WAS THE PREVIOUS OIL CONDITION? DID YOU FIND ANY METAL GRINDINGS IN THE GEAR BOX SUMP AND WERE BRONZE? IF SO THEN THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE GOVERNOR IS WORN.

83 700r trans lost 2nd and 3rd gear then lost 4th after awhile, suspect voltage supply to internal shift selnoids, looking for wiring circuit diagram to the trans

700r4 transmission is mechanical. There are no electrical connection, The shift solenoids are fluid pressure controlled through check valves and the boost valve. Stripped the governor gear may be? No governor, no up-shifts. Happens frequently in Corvettes. That is the second cause listed for 1st gear range only - no upshift in the service manual I am looking at. The first is governor valve sticking. Valves that have been working fine for years don't suddenly "stick" unless something gets caught in them. Like clutch material, or other foreign debris, that is a result of a failure.

Best course of action is to take the pan down and have a look. If there's **** in it, you have work to do. If it's fairly clean, pull the governor, and check the driven gear. Good luck but your most likely going to have to rebuild the transmission.

I have a 95 blazer that will only go 20 mills per

If it will not come out of first gear and goes into a coasting at about 15 then as it slows down it is still in gear -- you have a governor problem. The governor has came apart, you can go to a junk yard and pull one to look at then see how they are and get you a good used one. Look at the side of your trans. looking for a round metal plug it will pop out with a screw driver. This is where the governor is located. It is a flyweight with springs some times the inner nut comes off, on some trans. the nut is plastic.

My truck don't shift. Has one forward and reverse. It is a 2500 1992.

Check transmission governor which is a gear driven metering device for the valve body. Its the old school speed sensor.Remove governor and inspect for stripped gears or stuck valves. This fluid circuit is critical for trans upshift...also check TV cable at the carburetor....this is the old school throttle position sensor for the trans control valve body.

Trans. problem

3speed or 4 speed? does it slip or just not shift. Might be old seals or a bad governor. Try using lubegard trans additive. Try that for a week if it doesn't work, replace the governor valve.

Tranny in my 1998 jeep wrangler takes off in second gear from dead stop if i punch it it will kick into drive it shifts fine after you start to move

The trans in your vehicle is a 3 speed auto,A904 model, also designated the 30RH or32RH.The trans is totally hydraulic,no electronic controls with the exception of tcc apply, aka, lockup. The vehicle shifts from throttle pressure and a governor. The governor is inside the tailhousing of the trans and is responsible for the road speed signal in this trans. If the valves in the governor start sticking, the vehicle will take off in 2nd gear. The valves can be cleaned, and sometimes jarred loose, but the more pressing concern is why are the valves sticking? The valves will start sticking when other parts of the trans starts making metal. So the governor sticking can sometimes be the symptom of a larger problem.Pull the trans pan and look for metal, and if so, how bad?One way to clear the governor of debris is to find an abandoned road or parking lot.At a complete stop, engage Reverse gear, and back up as fast as you dare.I have backed cars up at 20-30 mph before, but wouldn't recommend you to.This can blow debris out of the governor hydraulic circuits, and free the governor valves as highest line pressure inside the trans is obtained in Reverse gear.Good luck.
