Turning signal isn't working - Cars & Trucks

It sounds as though you have a wiring problem around that particular light/signal.

Check the black earth leads to the light and the signal - it may be nothing more than a 'bad earth' due to corrosion where the earth wire connects to metal.

Check the main power wires, too. It should be an easy fix .. make sure the wires are clean and secure

check all your exterior lightbulbs; the signal circuit is balanced
if a lamp is shorted in the signal circuit the flasher will buzz instead of click

Yes , usually the PCM / ECM - engine computer gives the relay a ground . But the PCM needs to see the correct inputs from the high an low pressure switches to do that ! You could have a bad switch . Look on the A/C system pipes for switches , with two wires each ! One side should have 5 volts , an the other side i'm not sure .

Did you try turning the wheel/knob next to the head light switch? It's the dimmer for your interior lights. Sometimes that happens and some ppl don't know about it. Not sure how familiar you are with it so thought I'd throw that out there.

If the knock sensor isn't working it isn't a real problem IF the engine isn't knocking. The sensor detects the faint pinging that comes before engine knock and sends a signal to the ECM which then begins to ****** timing until no pinging is reported by the sensor. If you do have knock and the sensor isn't working you can severely damage your engine.

First check coolant level, cooling fan and fan relay is working properly, water pump is working fine, thermostat isn't stuck or engine temperature sensor isn't sending right signal.

Wow - electrical issues with Any motor Vehicle are frustrating. I would only suggest not one but two or three calls to dealerships that focus on your car manufacturer and after chats, select one that will trouble shoot the issue with out charge?

Chances are you have a 4l60e transmission.(or one of its relatives) Shifting is done through the engine computer and internally by shift solenoids, on command. The system needs to be scanned to make sure that proper signals are going to the solenoids and that the solenoids are working properly.
By the way....I hope your engine really isn't turning at the rpm you stated....even Indy cars can't rev that high!!!

usually the one flasher serves both turn signal & hazard flasher, if either one isn't working you may have other problems.....hope this helps.....cheers.

Maybee flasher. they are still same as they used to be. Quieter tho. Should be located around or behind fuse panel.
