SOURCE: 98 golf anti theft problem

Put the key in the driver door lock (or the trunk lock if you don't trust the driver's door- quite often on a vehicle of this age the wires break in the door and it won't electrically de-activate the alarm due to the broken wires)
Disconnect the battery.
Turn the key to the unlock position (toward the front of the car if using the driver or passenger doors) and release it- it will go back to centered, but will retain slack in the forward direction
Then reconnect the battery. You may get one beep out of the alarm horn. If it beeps continually, turn the key to unlock again.
As long as the alarm is de-activated it will not prevent the car from starting. If you are still having a problem it is not alarm related.

Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help

SOURCE: 97 mustang want start just turns over

no you cannot bypass it. What you can do is put an OBD I computer in it or there is a programmable ECM on the market now. These are very expensive options and alot of skill is involved. Where are you located?

SOURCE: how do i reset the

The system reset any time the correct ignition key is turned to the run position or the door is locked and unlocked with the key, there is a sensor on the lock cylinder. If this is what you have done then already then the system have problem and you will need the dealer to scan it for fault codes. You may have a defective key transponder sensor in the ignition lock cylinder.

2003 ford mustang gt anti theft light flashing engine will turn over but will not start

From my experience...
A non PATS coded key SHOULD not turn the STARTER...!

If ANTI-THEFT were invoked... you can attain a not start condition which the Owners Manual says must be cleared by the dealer.

A working PATS key should disable the anti theft... by turning the ignition on... ELSE try your other key.

The SecuriLock [PATS]
passive anti-theft system is not compatible with
non-Ford aftermarket remote start systems. Use of these systems may
result in vehicle starting problems and a loss of security protection.

Could anti-theft system d mustang cause car to shut off while driving?

Hi, im a retired ford tech, with alot of experience on ford anti theft . Now if you are asking about a built in oem factory anti theft, your not going to be able to bypass it. Now to answer your question, I would say your factory anti theft IS NOT causing your issue. It will make it unable to start,it doesnt kill anything else.

Have a 98 mustang v6 that just replaced the starter, alternator and last the fuel pump, everything back together now when try to start up, anti theft blinks crazy and tries to turn over but will not catch,...

This is from the Ford manual:

When the ignition is turned to RUN or START, the

theft indicator will light for 3 seconds and then go

out. If the theft indicator stays on for an extended

period of time or flashes rapidly, have the system

serviced by your dealership or a qualified technician.
