My 2006 Trailblazer SS has a high pitched whiney noise that happens when accelerating the gas. It is not the power steering as it happens when just going straight

It doesn't do it when in neutral and when decelerating it seems to go away

Could possibly be the pinion shalt bearings in diff if the noise is only under load also could be drive shaft hanger bearing if you have a two piece drive shaft

SOURCE: 2006 Chevy Trailblazer - winding noise

I went to the dealer to check on the price for the idle pulley and they said that was waht the problem was. The quote from them was $99 for Labor and $38 for the pulley..Solution $18.00 at the parts store and 20 min from my hubby and it is fixed. The only problem with the pulley form the auto parts is that the original washer won't fit in the hole so we had to but a seperate washer. Runs great now I just have to find a solution to the gas gauge and fuel sensor.

Sounds like a bad torque converter. When the torque converter is engaged, it's not "whirring" it's on decel or freewheel that it "whirs".Did you check fluid level and color?

2000 Cadillac DeVille sounds like prop-plane on acceleration

Could be the serpentine belt rubbing on something, but is probably a bearing problem in the belt idler pulley. However, it could be the power steering pump, AC compressor clutch or generator. As the water pump is at the opposite end of the engine, it's probably not that.

When driving, if I hit the gas it makes like a high pitch whining sound. The hrder you hit the gas the louder the sound. You can hear it in idle. It only makes the sound while applying the gas pedal,...

Hello my name is Israel and I will try to help. The problem sounds as if it could be the tension pulley. This is the pully that puts tension on the belt. It may be going out. Yes I know that your vehicle is only 5 years old but it could happen. I just had mine replaced and it was only 3 years old. Good Luck.

Loud engine whine (like a jet noise) from 2002 subaru forester

Have you crawled under the vehicle and personally inspected your exhaust line from manifold to tail pipe? The roaring sound usually occur when there is a hole in the exhaust line. I had it happen to my forester before. A hole half the size of a dime made my subaru sound like my old 74 chevy pickup.

High Pitch whine during acceleration

well it could be a few things but most likely you belt is sliping. That is very common and happens to all cars over the years if the belt is not changed. You should check it out. The belt could be bad but it could also be a bad pully. If you dont know what these parts are look them up on google. its very simple
