Why the water keep going down in the radiator when i fill it up?

It could be leaking into the cylinders. Check your oil to see if it looks milky

05-07 Nissan Pathfinder hard shifting and bad coolant

These pathfinders have a major common problem and there is no technical service bulletin. Does your pathfinder have a hard (jerking)1-2 gear shift? does it have a hard shift in any other gears, when downshifting, or comming to a stop? Is your coolant a grey cooler or is your trans fluid bad? check your coolant on top of the radiator (when its cold) or in the coolant reservoir. Check your transmission fluid with the trans dip stick (with engine on).

What is happening is the trans fluid cooler (on the bottom of the radiator) and radiator are cracking and trans fluid and coolant fluid are mixing together. If you catch this problem very very early it might be possible to fix it with a simple flush coolant and tanns flush and new radiator. But in most cases it requires a new transmission and new radiator and major flushing. It will probably happen to all pathfinders for these years, just depends on when. go to the dealership for check ups and check your coolant fluid, trans fluid, and shifting often to diag it quickly.

How do u top gearbox oil up on a automatic clio 51 reg

For vehicles without ATF filler tubes and dip sticks accessible in the engine bay, the ATF needs to be pumped in from the side of the transmission and from under the car. There is a specific filling procedure that must be followed. If your particular model has no Auto transmission fluid filler tube with dip stick in the engine bay this is what must be done. If unsure on your particular model then check your owners manual or contact the dealer service people.

If your model has no engine bay ATF filler tube I suggest you get the dealer to do it for you or a transmission business that knows these transmissions and will not overfill it. The vehicle needs to be up on a lift and perfectly level in cases when fluid is required to be pumped into the Auto Transmission from under the vehicle.

These transmissions are sealed units and if fluid needs to be added then you will have a significant leak that needs to be attended to. Running the transmission with low fluid which requires adding to will result in expensive damage to the the unit. If you have a model with no engine bay transmission filler tube and dip stick to check the auto fluid level you will have no idea how much fluid is being lost if you have a leak.

Where do you check the transmission level on a 1995 Polaris 425 Magnum. How do you add fluid?

on any vehicle with an automatic transmission, there are two dip sticks. One to measure oil level, and the other transmission fluid level( typically labled 'check with engine running in park'). To add transmission fluid requires a funnel to introduce fluid via the dip-stick tube.

If you have a manual transmission, then you don't need transmission fluid, you need gear oil, which can be measured at the transmission and added at the same port.

Transmission slipping on 03 GMC Envoy. what does iy mean when trans fluid measure high on dip stick?

Two things: #1 someone has overfilled it by mistake thinking they were putting oil in the engine. Yes I have seen this.
#2 The transmission cooler in the radiator could be leaking antifreeze into the transmission through the cooling line raising the fluid level. I would look for milk shake foam on the dip stick and make sure you check trans in park and not neutral.

The service engine soon light is on. The check engine light had come on several times the day before. The check fluid light had come on & went off. Added 2 qts. of oil to the engine and it is fine....

Have the computer scanned if you want a quick scan have Auto Zone or the like scan it for free , they also will give you a printout of the problem code, if any, that may be stored in the computer system.
Trans. fluid is only checked on a running in park warm engine, if it is not running the fluid will read too high on the stick showing an overfilled condition, use only recommended fluid, should have the type requirements stamped on the transmision dip stick.
When filling do it slowly and add only half a quart at a time checking the level each time as to not over fill.
The trans. fluid and filter should be changed every 30,000 miles as preventive maintenance proceedures.
Hope this helps, good luck!!
