How do I make engine run, 4.7L Ram 1500 that has security block on ign.

Engine cranks and has new fuel pump, with good pressure, but no gas going into cylinders, gas going down the throttle body will fire the engine just not going through injectors hasn't ran in two years

Just a hunch - remove the injectors and clean them to insure there is a path for the fuel to get into the intake manifold.

Testimonial: "Have ordered new injectors, so if injectors are getting ground from computer they should pulse and engine should run, I'am thinking fuel setting in injectors for two years could cause them to stop up and cut gas flow."

SOURCE: '88 chevy truck, no spray from injectors

Not sure on that model what controls the injector pulse, but most vehicles either use the signal from the crankshaft position sensor or a cam position sensor. You should use a LED testlight, (NOT A BULB TESTLIGHT!!) and backprobe the injector terminals (with the other lead of the testlight to ground) while cranking the engine over. If the light flashes on one of the terminals, then you are getting injector pulse, and the fault lies elsewhere. If not, then you will need to replace whatver sensor is used to provide engine position signal on that model. Also, check the wiring to that sensor. Some vehicles have problems with the crankshaft pulley harmonic balancer failing and damaging either the body of the crank position sensor or its wiring.

SOURCE: good fuel pump, engine turns over but wont crank.

if u pour fuel in the throttle body n cranks then goes dead u may want to check your fuel injectors see if they're actually working , u say your fuel pump is good maybe not the injectors

SOURCE: throttle body injectors not fiering but there is fuel pressure

the injectors are fired thru the engine cotrol module but it gets its signal to fire from the pick-up located inside the distributor if you are loosing injector pulse only the ignition module is bad if you are also loosing spark when you loose injector pulse your pick up is causing the problem if you replace the pick-up i recomend you change the ignition module when doing so because they work together and you have to remove the distributor to change the pick-up

Why will my 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 Magnum not start

no shop can fix it>??????? 5.9L gas.
cranks fast but no start has 50 causes (engine parts all+ EFI parts all)
a shop or tech does tests to do with tools .
if IAC is stuck close using 5% right foot throttle actions replace dead IAC lost air flow. so starts.
no need to buy IAC ever, seen right foot fail.
if it cranks fast why a new battery and alternator>?
300rpm is cranking speed, and is all you need
if battery stays above 10vdc (11 is par) the engine and EFI starts the engine.
compression tests pass on this old truck.

i WILL NOT GUESS FOR YOU. JUST TESTING

my list, (using real tools owned or borrowed)
IN ORDER (1,2,3 BAD ENGINE/SPARK/FUEL)

ALL FUSE TEST GOOD
SCAN PCM OBD2 PORT CRANKING NOW DTC'S POP UP.????????
26YEAR OLD ENGINES.
150PSI or more on all cylinders.??? NEAR EQUAL
DONE WOT WIDE OPEN THROTTLE.
NEXT.
SPARK TESTS GOOD AT ALL SPARK PLUGS.
NOT JUST 1, IF ALL DEAD CHECK COIL HV LUG NEXT FOR SPARK.
IF DEAD ICM DEAD?
I HAVE A TIMING LIGHT AND #1 FLASHES NEAR TDC MARK SO CAM OR DISTRIBUTOR TIMED RIGHT..
EVER TRY NEW SPARK PLUGS FIRST , CAP AND ROTOR OR ICM IF MAIN IGN COIL IS DEAD.
OK SPARK IS GOOD, AND SO IS ENGINE
NEXT IS FUEL,
WE NOW TRY TEST FUEL CALLED INSTANT SPRAY START IN A CAN. SOLD AT WALMART EVEN.
I SPRAY IT IN THE IAC HOLE OR AIR CLEANER PULLED AN SPRAY FOR 3 SECONDS THERE.
IN THAT HUGE AIR INDUCTION HOSE.
IT RUNS THE ENGINE FOR 3 SECONDS EACH TRY.
AND ENGINE SOUNDS GREAT.
MUST.
IF YOU GET THIS FAR OUT COMES FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE (HAND TOOLS)
CHECKING PRESSURE ONLY CRANKING A 2 MAN JOB. FOR SPEC. psi pressure

dribble test only finds dead pumps never bad FPR
ask scotty this, 5 million have.
keep in mind time limits then on videos
doing fuel tests is a 30min video alone,
leak down tests, injector balance test and FPR tested
cranking and idle and WOT. 3 tests.

98 chevy 1500 starts and then shuts right off have replaced fuel pump and filter ,crank sensor, cam sensor ,oil sen. coil, ign.mod and PCM

On some chevys the oil pressure sending unit closes the circuit to continue the fuel pump to run after start. In the event of a wreck ,the car stops running thus no oil pressure thus turns off power to the fuel pump .A safety to help prevent fires. When you first start the car, the computer turns on the fuel pump for about 20 seconds just enough time to start and allow the oil pressure sending unit to close the circuit to allow it to continue running. when the car car has NO oil pressure or the sending unit fails ,it will start then shut down..as many times as you try to start. replace the oil pressure sending unit and secure a good conection. My 1500 series 360 turning over, but wont start. not getting fuel to the injecters. thinking fuel pump.

pour a little gas in to the intake and crank it if it trys to start next thing to check is the fuel pump... this can be done by having another person locate the fuel rail that runs over top of the fuel injectors you will find something that looks like a over sized valve steam for a tire... you can press the little pen in the center if there is pressure you will have gas spray out if not it gas will still come out but at the rate of a trickle while the truck is being turned over... also you can check the pump by listening to the pump in the tank shortly after cranking the engine or just after turning the key to the run position a few times....

2004 5.7 Auto 3.55 Quad 242K 1/4 Tank of fuel. After running 75 mph on Interstate for 330 miles pulled off freeway to get something to eat and no restart after 10 minutes. Cranks but will not start....

i am not sure about the 2004 models.[i left dodge in early 2004] but all the previous years had a problem with running out of gas with 1/4 tank reading on gauge. it may be when you parked truck is sitting at a different angle than it was on the road, causing what fuel was in there to drain away from the pump. easy check is to crank engine a coupl of seconds then locate the shrader valve on the fuel rail on intake and depress the valve core [like letting air out of a tire] if air or mostly comes out under a little pressure then you are out of gas also i dont know your tank capacity but if all of a sudden your getting better mileage than before then that would indicate out of gas. a new fuel level sender is needed if out of gas.

99 Ram 1500 4x4 wont start, it will crank and it wants to turn over but doesn't. Thought it might be the fuel line frozen, heated up water and poured on fuel line in engine compartment. When I turn the key...

Check your fuel line pressure-use the schroder valve(looks like a tire valve) on the main fuel rail just before the injectors. If it doesn't spurt out when you press it briefly, you have no fuel pressure. Bad fuel pump-clogged fuel filter? Do you smell gas anywhere like its leaking out somewhere or not getting fire when you crank the starter?
If you DO have fuel pressure, then I would check timing or spark circuits.

Hope this helps.

I have a 90 chevy k1500 350 tbi with same problem! I have traced problem to... after turning on key fuel pump kicks on when u crank it over injectors shoot gas and truck starts! After few seconds injectors stop spraying and truck dies! This can happen many times over and over! Eventually sometimes truck stays running and all is great! I changed ignition module, oil pressure sending unit (which i was told controls gas after vehicle is running) fuel filter, computer, fuel pump relay, I am at a loss now! Hope this helps and hope someone can help me!

2000 Jimmy running one second and just won't start the next. Will crank but no fire. Changed fuel filter and while doing so turned key and swa fuel pump working.

If no check engine light is on, I would check the ign-distributor cap and rotor, also check the crank and crank sensor. There is also a ign-mod located in the distributor assembly under the rotor. They will fail when hot.
