The key fob is the remote. But the remote type that works like a key. The remotes that you just need to carry on you to start the car or truck. That is a Key Fob.

Thanks Jay!

Tried to get into my 2008 Nissan Altima with the key and it won't unlock the door or the trunk. Called AAA and they could unlock the door manually but they couldn't open the doors. Tried opening the door...

well are you taling using a keyfob or actually inserting the key if a keyfob no battery power will cause the doors not to unlock

the actual key in the slot should work and is your back up

mostlikely you need a new battery either in your keyfob or the car

Need to program remote keyless entry for 2003 nissan pulsar?

If it is a 2003 model year vehicle follow this procedure. If it doesn't work, you may have the wrong fob which happens all the time.

Sit in vehicle and close all doors.
COMPLETELY insert and remove ignition key more than six times within 10 seconds.
Hazard lights should flash twice.
Turn ignition to ACC position
Press and hold any button on the new key fob hazard lights will flash twice
For a second key fob using the master lock switch, lock and unlock the doors then hold down any button on the second remote until the hazard lamps flash twice.
Then you are done open the door to exit the programming mode.
If the lamps didn't flash when holding down the key fob make sure you have the right key fob, they are different for each car.

Ihave a 1996 Nissan Maxima. I am unable to use the remote keyless entry. I changed the battery but still no good.

You need to program it. Here is how you doit.
Step by step:

1- get inside and lock all door with the "power dool lock switch"
2- insert the key into the ignition 6 times "IN and OUT" nice and steady until your hazards flash on dashboard. You can just keep inserting the key until you see the hazards flash, but 6 times should do it / get you into the program mode.
3-once the hazards flash, turn the key to ACC position (dash light up, but car is not running)
4-press any button on the remote (hazards should flash)
5-turn key OFF
6-remove key
7-unlock door with "power door lock switch"
8-open door DONE.
Good luck
