SOURCE: where is the bank 1 sensor 2 o2 sensor for a 96

Oxygen sensors are numbered by which bank of cylinders they serve. Bank 1 is the left or drivers side bank of cylinders on the 4.3L which has the odd numbered cylinders 1,3, and 5. Bank 2 is the right or passenger side bank of cylinders numbered 2, 4, and 6. The Bank 1 Sensor 1 would be the sensor for the left hand side of the engine AHEAD of the converter. Bank 1 Sensor 2 is the sensor for the left hand side bank of cylinders BEHIND the converter.

Oxygen sensor location for 1998 chevy express 1500 van

Most O2 sensors are in the exhaust system. Usually positioned as one before and one after the catalytic converter. Each exhaust fitted will be set up this way. The catalytic converter is usually positioned nearest the engine. One exhaust system has two O2 sensors and twin exhausts have will have four.

1996 Chevy Express 1500 w/5.0 bogging only when warm.

The cylinder 7 misfire is likely a symptom of the problem, not the problem itself.

Typically, the catalytic converter has an oxygen sensor in front and behind it. When the vehicle is warm and running in closed loop mode, the upstream oxygen sensor waveform reading should fluctuate. The downstream 02 sensor reading should be fairly steady. Typically the P0420 code triggers the check engine light if the readings of the two sensors are similar. This is indicative of (among other things - such as faulty sensors in the "emissions loop") a converter that is not working as efficiently as it should be.

I do not believe that it is a problem with a valve/head gasket or cam.

I have a Chevy 2002 express cargo van and the code indicated that the O2 sensor Bank2 sensor 1 is not working. Which one is this I see three sensors on the exhaust

HI....
The BANK 2 on your chevy is the PASSANGER SIDE.
And BANK 1 is at the DRIVER SIDE.
The sensor 1 is the UP sensor. It's mean BEFORE catalystic.
And the sensor 2 IS AFTER Catalystic.

OK... I hope this help on your question
Thank you for use fixya.
