Hit a flooded roadway the other night and accidentally hit the shifter into reverse at high speed. Did I get something wet or was it the accidental shift. I tried disconnecting the battery already no luck
The windows ,locks etc... are controlled by an electronic control module ,BCM - body control module . Doubt shifting into reverse or the water did anything . Shifting into reverse could have damaged the internal parts of the transmission only . Did water get inside the driver door ? Taking the vehicle to a qualified repair shop that has a professional scan tool to have a full vehicle scan done ,is what you should do . Not a part store , their code reader can not read BCM or driver door module codes .
Testimonial: "Passenger side got the most water not in cab though just a 50mph power wash didn't know if some got up in under the engine compartment. The window master switch I'm going to try replacing before going to a chevy dealer. Truck only has 29k I believe you're on the right track the symptoms don't correlate to me the radio not shutting off now Windows not working truck seems to be starting harder before it started in half a second now it's cranking for a while strange things are happening. Thank you"
Why not take it to the dealer , could be fixed under warranty . You real should have a full vehicle scan done , all the modules are checked for codes . You vehicle has at least 10 electronic control modules on board . They all share info. on GMLAN serial data network , are you familiar with C.A.N. controller area network ? This is a communication network for the controllers . A two wire can bus. A bad ground can cause all kind of electrical problems . Suppose you change the switch an it doesn't fix the problem ? Checking for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes is the only way . There are other repair shops besides dealers , independent repair shops like mine , started at the dealer back in the 80'S , have my own shop now for 20 years . Other places ,Firestone , pep boy's , napa car care centers.

You're right Jeff and I appreciate your time and your comments you seem very well versed I canceled the order for the window switch and made an appointment with a dealer the truck has 29,000 miles but it's over the three years it'll be out of pocket that's why I was trying to fix it myself. Thank you again
What was the fix to your problem? My truck is doing the same thing now.

SOURCE: Alarm haywire, can't override anti-theft system or turn on car
The Alarm on my Mercedes ML320 sounded every night, then it started doing it more often, Showed it to the dealer he says it's the 'Tow Sensor', that needs to be repaced. $700, down the drain. I have already started hating this car, it eats $500-600, every 6 months...
SOURCE: Drivers Door Window/Locks aren't working
driver side lock and window switch... if its all one unit... i had a 95 cherokee laredo that did that... changed the switch and it fixed my problem...

Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. First of all you’ll need to check
battery voltage, recharge it if it is low or jump start with another battery
charger. Inspect, clean and tight both ends of all battery cables. Also check,
clean and tight wiring connections. Check for voltage at relay. If relay has
voltage but there is no "click" when key is turned to start, replace
relay. Remove starter and inspect drive gear and flywheel teeth, replace
damaged parts if necessary. Check to see if voltage reaches starter relay/solenoid
when turn to start. If not, check for open P/N switch and brake or clutch pedal
switch. Please pry the
interior panel and release the inside door locks. If still the issue is not
resolved then you’ll need to drill a two inch hole into the latch to access the
inside lock link through the interior panel. After removing the panel replaces
the latch to resolve the issue. See the picture where to drill---
Please do accept the solution if the issue is
resolved or else revert for further assistance.
Thanks
Rylee
