2000 Dodge Dakota power window on driver side

My 2000 Dodge Dakota power window on driver side seems to be off the track or something. Heard a clunk, then I get up and down movement but window starts to go crooked as it moves up and down. Can straighten it manually but press button and goes crooked again as it moves up. I have to wrestle with it to get it closed properly. Can I fix this myself? How do I fix it?

The regulator assembly or even one of the tabs on the window that attaches to the regulator has broken. it can be a self repoair but if the glass broke then let the glass company do it.

You need to have your window regulator replaced because one of your plastic guide rollers broke. I have replaced several.

Window fell down driver side on a 2004 dodge dakota so whats the problem

Hello,
Something caused the window to come out of the track. Some times it can be caused by something hitting the window, sometimes hitting a big pothole.

If you're a little bit handy, you should be able to remove the door panel to access the window and put it back on the track.

I hope this helps.

I think you should try this website link that I have attached. It helps you repair your vehicle easily without more help. Ask the girl in chat at the bottom of the page on reliable-store com
or try manualslife com but they don't have any live help tho
but both are pretty good

1. check fuses
2. if motors are good, more likely it is, it will be the windows regulator or windows switch, both tend to wear out the contacts over times. the windows switch pretty expensive, its run about 123.00 buck each and the regulator run 59.00 each. more likely will be regulator. if it not the windows switch is good. hope that help some, both not hard to replace and not easy.

Driver side door window slowly fell down into the door of my 1997 dodge dakota. The glass did not break.

Power or crank? Either case the rails that hold the window on probably broke. there are slides inside the door that keep the window in place, if a slide broke, or if one of the brackets broke, the window will come down. I cant really recomend doing this yourself as ive had the same issue on other vehicles and pulling apart the door and messing with the slides and stuff in there is a real pain. Hopefully it only fell off the track and you can put it back in place. If not, if your not very handly i would suggest taking to someone.

Power window

It is probably just off of the track. It could be worse. take the door apart and put the window back in the guide (track). Hope this helps.
