09 HYUNDAI SANTAFE THAT IS STUCK IN GEAR. THE CAR IS OFF,THE KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION. THE CAR WOULDN'T START, SO I USED THE NEUTRAL BUTTON, PUT IT IN NEUTRAL & IT STARTED RIGHT UP.

NOW, THE SHIFTER WON'T MOVE. IT IS STUCK IN 2ND GEAR POSITION THE CAR STARTS RIGHT UP EACH TIME, BUT THE SHIFTER WON'T MOVE WETHER WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING OR NOT

Sounds like you have an issue with the shifter interlock. Either a bad actuator solenoid, cable, or brake switch I would think.

your ignition have to be replaced focus 2002/7 have that problem and a lot more often if you have a lot of other keys with it,try some wd40 ,but if you do take the key out replace the ignition or you going to get stuck.

Throwout bearing will need to be replaced most likely. Otherwise cluctch plate or fork may have stuck

Hi there,
try turning the wheel to the right/left while turning the key in the ignition. You have to apply some force. Your car is probably outliving its road life.

2003 Hyundai Elantra won't start, but has power. Trying to put car from park to neutral.

Is it possible that the battery isn't fully charged? The interlock is electro-mechanical. Turning the ignition on and putting for foot on the brake should release the shifter lock as you said.

For starting issues you need to connect a scan tool and check for DTCs.

Key stuck in ignition car stuck in park key won't go to off position

There may be to much pressure on the steering wheel lock for it to go into the off position. put the parking brake on. put the shifter in neutral gently turn the steering wheel in the opposite direction of where the wheels are pointed and try turning the key to the off position. Good Luck

With alarm activated your ignition is disabled.Find the combination to disable it.With GM's you hold opposing buttons on the fob till it beeps twice. The dealer should help for no charge.

I cant start my car with the remote starter

You normally have to while the car is running transmition in neutral push the brake pedal, put the emergancy brake on, release the foot brake, press the remote start button on the remote, take keys out of ignition switch, car should stay running, get out, press the lock button on remote starter remote, car should shut off, and now is set
