I have a 2002 Durango with a newly rebuilt transmission, It's 5.9L, and I'm looking at a 2002 Dakota 4dr with 4wd and 4.7L! will the transmissions interchange???

No. I don't know if the 46RE transmission from the 5.9L Durango will bolt up to the 4.7L in the Dakota (I don't think it will), but more importantly, the Dakota controls its current 45RFE transmission electronically, and the powertrain control module (PCM) in the Dakota controls the transmission through a transmission control module (TCM). Even if you could mechanically get the 46RE installed behind the 4.7L in the Dakota, you'd have to do a lot of major modifications to the electronics to get it to work properly.

2002 dodge ram 1500 starts right up every time, but dies in 2-3 seconds. Shows code p1686 (no skim bus message received) but I do not hav a chipped key. Please help!!

Have you changed the ignition switch or PCM recently? The PCM is expecting to receive a signal through the PCI bus that a valid key has been inserted into the ignition switch and read by the SKIM (sentry key immobilizer module) attached to the ignition switch. You need to have the PCM programmed (by the dealer or someone who has a DRB Scan Tool - factory type scan tool), to let it know that you do not have the SKIS (system) installed in your Dakota.

2002 dodge dakota slt 4x4 4.7 ltr key on eng off all lights come on on the ipc then go off after 15 sec start to come on one by one then odo blinks 4x goes to no bus. Vehicle starts and runs fine no ecm...

with no bus, that is power to or from the pcm. try wiggling the 3 plugs at the pcm with the key on. if you see lights change, or hear the bing, that would most likely be the pcm.

Troubleshooting code PO753 ECM or PCM.

It is more likely the solenoid, the PCM is very seldom the problem, about 3% of the time to be exact.
