SOURCE: wrong fuel in car

Hi, My name is Tom and I need to get some info on your car. Make, year, engine type, how long it has been stored, was there any fuel in the car from before, was the old fuel drained, does the engine call for the good old leaded type? What is it that you think that you may have ruined? Tom.

SOURCE: by accident put the wrong fuel in tank

There is a bolt under the gas tank. You will need to go under your car to get to it. Once you loosen this bolt the fuel will drain out there. This is called a fuel dump hole, or a flush hole. It is located directly under the gas tank on the tank itself.

Another method, is

1.) remove the hose that is connected to your fuel filter. Its the one that's leads from your gas tank to your filter.

2.) place the end on this hose into a bottle or container

3.) turn on the ignition. The pump will run, pumping the fuel from the tank to the container.

There will still be some fuel in the filter as well as the engine. the fuel from the filter can be drained out , The one in the system will have to be burned out while the car is running after you put the right fuel in.

SOURCE: where is the fuel pump located on a 1989 hyundai

Turn the car on and listen for a sound resembling an electric motor running, which should stop after just a few seconds of having the key turned to acc (pre ignition) If nothing then you will have to drop the gas tank belts and pull the pump from the upper assymbly. I believe it is threaded normally and the fuel hoses can be removed with the ends taped to keep dust and dirt from making its way into your fuel system.
Check O'Reilys or Autozone for the pump

The engine comes from japan, a daft statement but the engine was designed to run on unleaded petrol in japan and when they came to England we still ran fully leaded petrol the engine is quite happy on ether fuel the motor may be unsettled for a while but will stablise if you change over from one to the other.

Hi i accidentally put e10 fuel in my Hyundai excel 3 of April 99 model . is there any immediate danger to the engine .do i need to flush fuel ?

Most fuels now may or may not have ethanol but it could have up to 10% of ethanol in gas as stated on the pump dispenser. So you should be ok

I put unleaded instead of regular gas in my 1999 Plymouth Neon and now the engine sounds like a stock car and extremely loud...is it the gas oris something wrong with the engine?

You can't put unleaded into a 1999 vehicle... you must have things confused. Some vehicles prefer high octane gasoline instead of regular. Using the wrong one (containing 10% ethanol can overheat and ruin the inside of some engines) Dual fuel engines can handle the ethanol.

I put the wrong octane in my '08 wrx sti

all impreza recommends high ROM.
although 99ron or 100ron is recommended, some uses unleaded for non-turbo and of course notice a sligth defference in performance using high ROM fuel.
in your case is the reverse, means does't need to drain for a change.

What kind of gas does a maxima 2001

According to page 10-3 of the 2001 Nissan Maxima Owner's Manual:

FUEL RECOMMENDATION
Unleaded premium gasoline with an octane
rating of at least 91 AKI (Anti-Knock Index)
number (Research octane number 96)
If unleaded premium gasoline is not available,
unleaded regular gasoline with an
octane rating of at least 87 AKI (Research
octane number 91) can be used.
However, for maximum vehicle performance,
the use of unleaded premium gasoline
is recommended.

Engine "knock" is not just an unusual sound - but over time can cause real damage to the engine. You *should* use fuels with the recommended octane levels, but if you choose to use fuel with a lower octane level due to reduce fuel costs - do not repeatedly use fuel that causes engine knock. Find the "sweet spot" between the cost of lower octane fuel and an octane level that does not cause knocking. Expect fuel economy and performance to drop with lower octane fuels, too.

Good luck!

I accidently put super unleaded gas.on my VW beetle 2002

That is not a problem it is actually recommended that you use premium 93-94 Octane fuel, if you put turbo blue (115) in it that would be a problem but 93-94 octane is the VW recommended fuel type.

I have a 1991 model hyundai excell and changed the motor to a 1994 x2 motor. The car starts but there is no fuel pressure. I have changed the fuel injectors and the fuel regulator. When I squeeze the fuel...

Lacking fuel pressure.Change fuel pump to the 1994 model type.Squeezing the fuel ret line causes pressure to build up in the line and fuel to pass through injecters more efficiently.
