You can drive in 4 high at any speed you would drive in 2 high as long as you are on a loose surface, never on a dry surface.

You need to take the jeep to a dealer or a good mechanic who can retreive the codes out of the computer. You may have a module problem but I will not guess without knowing the codes.

SOURCE: SUZUKI ESCUDO N 4H 4H LOCK 4 L LOCK

I will assume you have the same thing as in a Suzuki Grand Vitara :
N : Neutral : use this when you tow your vehicle.
4H : Use it in normal road conditions, highway, etc.
4H Lock : Use it on offroad, snow, sand, ... etc
4L Lock : Use when you are stuck on snow or sand, BE CAREFUL, this mode is only for difficult situations, do not exceed 25 MPH, and do not use it in normal conditions.
Hope this help.

SOURCE: 1995 Jeep grand cherokee is missing while running.

I have the same problem on my 95 grand cherokee laredo. Sometimes it starts out fine and after about 10 miles it starts spitting and sputtering. Then after a while it seems to clean out and run fine again for a little while. Then other times it starts out spitting and sputtering at the begining. I changed the fuel filter and that was not it. It is a 4.0L 6cyc. Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Broken Arrow, OK

I changed rear bearings on a jeep liberty 2006.and now it wont go in 2 wheel drive any answers.

"The Liberty is available with either a part-time Command-Trac or full-time Selec-Trac transfer case."

which one?
do you have , and are very much different.

the part time only shifts on dirt or ice.
are you on dry pavement, if yes, raise the rear axle again
and shift into 2H.
4H an 4L are for iCe roads or dirt only,
or it winds up and binds up,..

selec-trac has a center differential. and does not do that above tricks.(has others...)

When I had my aircondition fixed my 4 whell drive will not go in

driving on what?
ice, snow, pavement, dry ,wet
?
what system do you have,?
The Liberty is available with either a part-time Command-Trac or full-time Selec-Trac transfer case.

we cant guess this, and is an OPTION new
so.....
read the operators guide in your glove box first. to see
if you can drive on pavement, in the mode you selected and
unstated by you.

Water leaks into rear left cargo area in 2006 Jeep Liberty during heavy rain. Think it's coming from roof rack but no water comes in when I aim a hose at it.

Could be the rear wheel is splashing up the water onto the cargo area, only when you drive. It might be a hole in the floor of the cargo area letting in the water.

Jeep Liberty 2006 ABS lights are on & won't turn off. Local mechanic says regular brakes will be fine. Do I need the ABS???

Hi Lora.... This is a common problem. The answer is no, you do not need antilock brakes. Your regular brakes will stop the car. The only trade off is that with out the ABS working, you will have to get into the habit of pumping the brakes when stopping on wet or icy roads. Joe
