I had the same problem, picked up a new computer for the tranny, I think it's under the seat, works fine.

SOURCE: isuzu trooper stuck in 1st gear

Likely the forks on the shift rail inside the trans are sliding on the shaft or are worn. I believe your unit needs to be removed to check this.

SOURCE: looking to buy a 1998 isuzu trooper but the check engine light is on. should i buy anyway

Remove cover from the relay and fuse box under the hood. Find the fuse for the ECM and remove. Wait 20mins and replace. If the light comes on again see a mechanic. I've had this problem over about 10 years and it is only a false alarm. If the problem persists see a mechanic. DO NOT TRY TO USE ANY CAR BATTERY POWERED DEVICE IN THE CAR UNTIL THE FUSE IS REPLACED

SOURCE: 2000 ISUZU TROOPER WITH AUTO TRANSMISSION. CHECK

If the fluid is up -
it could be a vacume loss or the shifting module..
The shifting module is what tells it to shift - and it is controled by vacume pressure..

I have Izusu Boghorn 3.2 l, the speedmetter is not working and the automatic transmission gear is not changing spead, and the check transmission warning light comes on. some time the speadmeter works

Check engine light is on because you need to have your vehicle serviced. Take it in, don't wait too long or you'll have bigger problems. It could be a very minor problem but the longer you wait, the more could go wrong

How much for lifters on a 1998 izusu trooper? And will that make you engine nock?

Lifters generally make a tick, tick, tick noise. If you have a low tone knock, you may have more severe issues, or what you may have is heavy carbon build-up on the pistons, contacting the cylinder head(s). What I suggest first is to use fuel injection cleaner and add it to the fuel tank a few times. You can go to your local part store and see what other products they have, such as "Seafoam," to assist in carbon removal. Extreme conditions may actually require the removal of the cylinder head(s) to gain access to the top of the pistons to physically scrape the carbon from them.

I have a 1998 Rodeo and I think the alternator went out however I charged the battery and tried to drive it and it is giving me trouble shifting gears. would the alternator being out affect the...

Sounds more like the alternator is still not putting out 100%...eventually your Izusu will quit running with a defective alternator...please have tested...so you don't get stranded...the battery will only run the car until it becomes low on power...sometimes the first sympton is limited acceleration...ie. can cause auto/shifting to be inconsistent...if high mileage, also consider adding a bottle of Lucas Oil Transmission fix...no draining necessary...excellent results. Hope this helps.

I am trying to find my dip tick on a 2000 Izusu trooper 3.5 I have look under the hood of my Izusu trooper, near the oil dip stick, on the other side of the engine, towards the back passages side toward...

what kind of dip stick??? Transmission. No dip stick as tranny is a sealed system. U cannot add any fluid or check levels. U need a special machine to pump it in. Well....actually I jimmy rigged a hand pump to refill mine after I acidentally drained it thinking I had found the oil pan! Believe it or not I am not the only one who has pulled off that ******** move.

Need a new Transmission assy.

GT4x4 are probably your best bet, or alternatively breakerlink or breakeryard (google for them)
