SOURCE: 2002 Hyundai Accent lost power

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand, definitely an electrical issue. Some ideas to check, consider and/or explore:

  • IGN switch - check for loose, corroded or heating connections. To test, under normal usage of the vehicle, should feel warm but not overly hot. If so, then possibly loose connection;
  • fuse/relay box - check for loose, corroded or burned terminals, holders, clips and connectors/pins. Use an electrical contact cleaner and spray. It may also be necessary to scrape to remove burnt marks/corrosion;
  • fusible link - the battery would have 2 wires connected to the + terminal. The big wire goes to the starter, the smaller of the two is the electrical systems main wire. This normally goes to the fuse/relay box. Check for frayed ends, loose connection, corroded terminals. In some instances instead of being at the battery's + terminal, it is connected to the end of the big cable down at the starter motor.
  • ALL connectors with big wires - these carry the main +12 either as always ON, ACC or IGN. If a connector has a wire bigger than the others, check them. It may be necessary to disconnect to enable you access to the inside pins/terminals. Scrape them clean.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: Removal of Radio in 2004 Hyundai Sonata

Remove the facia plate, and remove the 4 screws that hold the radio in place. It's actually one of the simplest cars you can do.

SOURCE: how do you reset the check engine light on a 2007

Ok there are two ways you can do this . you can just pull the negative batt cable for 10 minutes. this will drain all power out of the CPU(ECM/PCM). or, you can use a diagnostic scan CPU to erase the codes and , reset the light.

SOURCE: how do you replace the fog light bulbs on a 2007

Look under the bumper and you will see two large phillips head screws right in front of the wheels. Take these two screws out and bend/move the plastice piece out of the way. Now you can easily get to the bulb. There is a cap that twists off that protects the wires and back of the bulb. Twist this off and then remove the plug portion from the back of the bulb. The bulb then turns 1/4 to 1/2 revolution to loosen and remove. Reverse steps for installation.

I have a hyundai sonata 2007 limited My car has both the esc off and the check engine lights on check engine is always on when the esc off light turns on the car runs very slow, it doesnt accelerate even...

These codes indicate your accelerator position sensor has malfunctioned. The computer has gone into limp mode, which allows you to drive to safety without damaging the engine. The computer is unable to determine how far you are depressing the accelerator and doesn't want to over-rev the engine. You need a new sensor.

My 2008 Hyundai sonata shut off on me while I was driving...all the lights on the dash went off and it was very hard to coast it off the road!!! What can this be? I had my engine replaced 2 yrs ago...can...

First....turn the ignition key off.....then. engage warp drive using impulse power ONLY. With your problem, using impulse power while in warp drive could severly damage dilithium crystals. Then, find lt. Uhura, and ask her if she needs anything. She'll take it from there.

THIS IS A NEW CAR. LET THE WARRANTY FIX IT. BUT CHECK THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR.ITS PART OF ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY.MAKE SURE ITS NOT LOOSE OR MISSING NUTS.ALSO MAKE THE ELECTRICAL WIRE IS STILL INTACT.

Just bought a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. Sensor Light on drivers side is on entire time car is off, is this a problem?

Yes... it's a problem. There should be NO dash (instrument panel) lights when the key is out of the ignition and all doors are closed. Whichever 'sensor light' you're talking about, it can discharge the battery over night. This issue may still be under warranty.. Take it in for diagnosis/repair.

Engine Light came on, Lost power

Only way to tell what is wrong is to have the computer scanned to read what code is stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM).
Any of the large parts stores, eg. Advance Auto, Autozone, Pep Boys, etc. should be able to scan it for free.
