Jeep cherokee's are know for faulty wheel speed sensors. Get a code reader that will read your year and model to determine which one or more it might be. I have found the two front wheel sensors were bad on the last jeep that had in my shop, the same warning messages in the dash

How’s your battery voltage and alternator? This is a longshot, but try jumping from another car and seeing those work then.
A weak alternator could cause that problem.
Take the car to an auto parts chain store For a free battery/Alternator analysis.

The torque converter clutch circuit may be at fault. The best way to determine the problem is to have a scanner/computer to read check engine codes.

SOURCE: SERVICE TRACTION/SERVICE ESC LIGHT COMES ON

Take it in to see which wheel is throwing the code. Some auto part stores let you use theirs for free. then check for corroded connectors or broken wires at the wheel bearings and speed sensors.
Clean corroded connections with a cleaner such as contax or acid wheel cleaner, then rinse and dry thoroughly and coat the female end of the connection with dielectric grease before reassembly.

Best of luck. These are GREAT cars!!!

SOURCE: traction control off, service traction control,

{: ) Your stabilitrak system may not work properly. The vehicle need to be scanned for trouble codes. In case you get a C0196 code, the recommendation is to reprogram the electronic brake control module. I hope that's the only cause.

2005 XS 2.7l V6. What is the function of the FWD LOCK button?

If you meant the 4WD LOCK indicator.

4WD Lock is used for climbing or descending sharp grades, off road driving or similar conditions to maximise traction. 4WD Lock mode deactivates at speeds above 30km/h (19mph)and is shifted to 4WD Auto mode at speeds above 40km/h (25mph). If the vehicle decelerates with the 4WD Lock on, the transfer mode is shifted back to 4WD Lock.

When the 4WD button is pushed the indicator light is constantly illuminated.

If the 4WD lock indicator light constantly illuminates, this means that the 4WD lock is activated. Push the button to deactivate the 4WD lock. If the light does not go off once pressing the button contact your nearest Kia dealer to have your vehicle checked.

the aw-4 auto , electronically shifted with TSM (scan it yet?)
and the 46RH auto. used on the 5.2L, has no TCM brain.
its a Hydramatic.
here are the OD words off the 46h page

Overdrive Control Switch
The overdrive control switch is located in the instrument
panel. In the On position, automatic shifts
into fourth gear overdrive will occur. In the Off position,
the switch overrides the powertrain control module
preventing a shift to overdrive fourth gear range.
The switch has an indicator light that illuminates
when overdrive is turned off. The switch also resets
when the ignition key is turned to the OFF position
so that the automatic overdrive feature is restored.
The use of fault codes is employed to help diagnose
the electronic components that operate the overdrive
unit and torque converter clutch.

Gear shift Selector stuck

These were known for having faulty brake light switche that would cause that problem as well as cruise control inop. I would check that first. It operates the shift-lock solenoid which releases the shifter. There were also some problems with the ignition switches, but mostly on the gm cars.
