SOURCE: how to replace turn light on bmw x5

partially remove the desired light by remove the 4 8mm screws, two ont the top and two at bottom behing the light, pull the light out far enough that you can see the socket, you should be able to remove it at that point. You should also check the contact of the bulb as it is most likely burned or melting and has damaged the socket so you should replace he socket and bulb as the warning may still be present even though the bulb works. Also the rear tail lights have a corrosion and burning issue as well on the brake contacts.

Bmw x5 2008 - fuse box diagram

A 2008 BMW X5 has 2 different possibilities as thas it a split year. It can have 2 different fuse box setup based on if the vehicle was made before or after 11-2008. You can look on the driver or passenger door jamb for a factory production sticker with the exact production date. ALso a power distribution box should exist under the hood. Here is images of the passenger compartment fuse box and each fuse for both options that year.

not sure on X5 but on 5 series it meant -
U112B - No message from instrument cluster, could instrument cluster fuse. Could try disconnecting and reconnecting battery to see if that clears it. (Make sure you have radio code before disconnecting)

Fuse box location

BMW fuse boxes are generally located in a little drop-down shelf that lives in the glove box. Open up the glove box and look on the "ceiling" of it for a little toggle that allows the fuse panel to fall down. 913c60f8-cbcc-475c-acc6-7aa3337dbcc8.jpg
