Not all the time, but sometimes, when i step on the gas, it barely goes anywhere. Its not the battery connections because I just took them off last night and cleaned them. Its not the alternator, i just put in a new one back in October and I also took it to auto zone for them to test it.
Mine said it was the fuel tank pressor sensor. I replaced the sensor the air filtr and it was the catalytic convertor that needed relaced! So I spent all that money on this and hat because of the test auto Zone did. It did not help. Hope this helps some of you.
The battery & alternator are not going to affect the run-ability of your vehicle.
Things to check: (starting with cheap & easy first)
(1) Air Filter
(2) Fuel Filter
(3) Plugs/ plug wires
Some other information to understand problem:
(a) What are RPMs doing when you step on gas? If RPMs increase (engine revs up) but you don't go anywhere, could be a transmission/torgue converter problem. Start by changing transmission fluid. (this assumes automatic transmission, which I think is only way the '99 Blazer was manufactured.)
(b) Not likely a direct cause, but change oil if needed.
(c) Does problem show up when engine cold or hot?
(d) Does problem show up when environment is hot, cold, or wet?
Any other details to describe your problem?
Hi Amanda
You might have a blocked fuel filter, which is commonly installed on the metal fuel line which runs from your tank to your engine bay, and the filter is usually installed near your fuel (gas) tank. Sometimes its a plastic item and semi-transparent, and sometimes its a metal can. I assume you have a normal petrol engine and not diesel.
If its a diesel truck, it might be blocked injectors, which can be costly to fix. Have you tried some fuel cleaner in your gas tank? This stuff is available at most auto shops and helps clean out the sludge and hard deposits wihich can block up your injector nozzles (diesel engine) or fuel injectors (electronic fuel injection system) or carburettor jets (normal engine carburettor found on much older vehicles),
If all of your lights and horn and radio work, and nothing seems to dim or stop working eg eg dash lights, radio, when you turn on something that draws a lot power (like high beam headlights), (ie lots of current from your battery and alternator circuit) then its unlikely to be truck's electrics. If the truck starts without hesitation, the battery is probably OK and the alternator is doign its job ie charging the baattery and supplying 12 volts DC to the trucks electrics.
Most modern cars have an engine management computer under the hood to control fuel mixture, igniton spark, fuel/air ratio (sometimes inside the vehicle) and any auto service centre can hook up a test unit to your car/truck computer and run a diagnostic test.
Cheers,
Steve

The RPMs dont do anything. They barely go above 1. Oil was just changed.
It doesnt matter if the engine is hot or cold, it just does it when it wants.
And Ive noticed this problem started about a month ago. So i dont know if it has to do with the weather because I live in Oklahoma, so its always hot.
Sometimes the truck doesnt start and I have to have someone bring a vehicle over so I can jump it.
Well, Its not the air filter, just checked that and it is clean. Although, i was reccommended to buy a new one anyways.
Okay, so update... I took it into Auto Zone to get a diagnostic test done. It turns out it was the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor. Now, does anyone know where that is located?
