SOURCE: diesel fuel injection fault

Black smoke usually means a fuel problem, try changing the fuel filter and get an injector cleaner from tesco's or asda they're about £3 to£5, if your gonna change your fuel filter you might as well change the oil and filter and the air filter at the same time

SOURCE: 1989 GMC 2500 5.7L - engine surges and stalls at idle. Loses power at cruising speed.

Wow you have replaced a lot of stuff. Lets go back to the Fuel pump. When you replaced it did you replace the hose between the pump and the sending unit. These are common for splitting. Have you hooked up a fuel pressure gauge to check what pressure you have? It should be real close to 13 psi and should raise to at least 18 or 19 when you pinch off the return line.

My 2005 x5 diesel BMW miss fires when I accerate and looses power at 100kph I have replaced fuel and air filters and run 3tanks of injector cleaner what could be the problem ?

I am leaning toward a fuel problem. Loss of mid-range power, misses or pops, and backfires are indicators of not having enough fuel. I am guessing some of your injectors are still not fully functioning.

Have a 01 bmw 325ci had code 0491 and 0492 secondary air insufficient i changed the check valve control switch vacum lines water pump 02 sensors up stream thermostat still get the codes can any one tell me...

Did you check the Vacuum lines to the Secondary air Valve Controls. They may be rotten. Can you do a Smoke test. Replace dry rotted lines with either 3/16 Fuel or Power Steering Hoses if you do not get ORM Vacuum lines/hoses. There are many Vedios on You Tube showing this specific problem solving on German cars. you can check out these,

My bmw x5 4.4i has a misfire on low revs but clears up on higher revs. 2 of the plugs are wet when removed. any indication of what the problem can be?

if the plugs are wet it shows extra fuel is getting in. remove and check the faulty injectors and fit new seals when refitting the injectors.

I am having problem with acceleration ,no power at all .it 's a bmw x5 3i and sometimes it goes back to normal I have scanned it some scanners shows different code p1351 .some mechanic say it s to do

code p1351 refers to cylinder misfire with fuel cut-off -cylinder 6===causes --wiring--connections--fuel level low--ignition/fuel system--intake leak---mechanical fault
with this information on hand take it to an accredited BMW service shop and find the fault
have a fuel pressure done on the fuel system, check all the connections Simple as it may seem ,the fuel gauge can be out and the tank fuel is too low to maintain pressure.,

My bmw x5 2006 model shakes when ideling

How can you say there is no loss of power when the car is not moving? You do have loss of power. What you have is a missfire in on of the cylinder. Diagnose the car and rectify. You could have injector or power problems.

The "service engine soon" light

Hello,

A code P1092 for your vehicle says the fuel trims are trying to add fuel and the limit has been reached and this throws this code. More specifically Pre-Catalyst Fuel Trim Too Rich Bank 2. A rich condition could be caused by several things. You could have a faulty fuel pressure regulator, a leaking fuel injector or a clogged air filter. I would check the air filter to see if it needs replaced and have the code reset. If it comes back on then you will have to go to a technician and have them pull the actual BMW fault code with their scanner.

2006 BMW X5. got oil service yesterday and new battery. Drove all morning today and then on the motorway, battery light comes on with fuel injection message and car loses all power. after 3 attempts it...

was this problem there before replacing battery? if not a loose connection at battery or in battery compartment the code is a temporary code and when connection severs the code is cleared check the time after starting till problem occures and see if there is a pattern to how long it takes

My fuel injection light came up on the dash board of my bmw x5 3.0 diesel. What is wrong and how much will this cost to fix.

Hello,
You will need to check your fuel pump and your injector nozzle in the engine. You will also need to check that you have enough fuel and your fuel indicator is working well. Injector engines usually do not tolerate low fuel levels. As for the cost of change, it will depend on where you are and what type of auto mechanic you are dealing with.

Cheers

Checking the fault codes

Yes.  Next to the ash tray there is a black slide off plate that reveals the OBD I plug.  {1996 and newer can be read with an OBD II reader (read for free at Advance auto or Auto Zone)}  Once you reveal this plug on the 1995, you can plug in a single jumper wire (or even a paper clip) in the #4 and #15 pin hole.  There are two rows of pin holes, count from the upper right to the #4, then on to #15 (which will be the second to last pin hole).  Turn the ignition switch on (motor not running), insert the jumper wire for about 3 to 5 seconds, then remove the wire.  The ENGINE LIGHT will flash a hold, then the code, which will go something like this, flash, flash, PAUSE, flash, flash, PAUSE, flash, PAUSE, flash, flash, flash, flash.  Then it will repeat the codes if you just sit there and observe it.  The code in my example would be a 2214 code.
Below are some code I found on a website.  I hope this helps.  Now I ask that you take the time to answer someone elses question.  Lets all share.  Good luck, "Peace through power and knowledge"
