Hi ,
You need to get the codes read as there are so many possibilities, best to use dealer level diagnostic equipment.
Testimonial: "thanks mate very helpful, can you tell me if a second hand ecu can be reprogrammedand. the mercedes fault codes are:- P1190 - 128 : Y74 N3/9 "
Hi ,ok Po703 is the brake light switch mounted just above the pedal,as for the P2200 code you would not have a Lambda sensor fitted to your car as it is Diesel and Lambda sensors are only fitted to Petrol cars.the desciption is Nox (nitrous oxides) Sensor fault your car is too early to have a DPF fitted so think thisis a spurios code (invalid). if you change the brake lamp switch and clear all the codes from the engine and the abs system you should find all is ok if not,let me know.

Hi Raja
apologies for notgetting back,as very busy and not been on line
The answer is yes but you need dedicated mercedes software to do this either a Merc dealer or a merc specialist with mercedes software, thank you for your kind words

Hi Raja
The code P1190 relates to the fuel pressure control solenoid these do have a history of failure, before buying a new high pressure fuel pump try changing just the fuel pressure regulator in the end of the common rail,or even getting a repair kit about £20 as its usually the O ring inside that fails,be warned this code can also come up if you have low rail prssure caused by an injector leaking off to much ,try and get a sealed rail test done first as this will tell you if the injectors are ok,good luck,
Darren

the code are p0703 brake switch bank 1 malfunction
p2200 this says its the nitrogen oxide sensor bank 1 malfunction. dont know what that is or where it is on the car. some one said its the lumbar sensor on the execust but looked all round cant find it can anyone help. many thanks
thank you. had the car diognostic done and its come back as pressure control valve and the cdi unit rehistered fault.
bit of history the ml270d had been parked for while and the battery went dead. battery changed and all codes removed and rechacked again and its now comming up with control pressure valve and cdi unit fault but the car runs fine but i do not take it above the 2.5rpm, as recommanded by the merc manuel. The epc light come on often and sometimes goes off, has a mind of its own. im told the cdi unit is £1100 and the pressure valve £170.
is it possiable to get a secondhand cdi unit and have it reprogammed whats best economical solution for my problem. can anyone help. thanks again
