I have a 2002 GMC envoy with a 1100/2100 Astroflex remote starter 6 button key fob. My remote stopped working completely and I replaced the batteries. Now the remote led blinks as normal but without the sound that usually accompanies it, and it wont lock/unlock doors or start the vehicle. Its stopped communicating with my car completely. Is there something I can do to resolve this or do I need a professional?

the lock on the driver side could be damaged or some on might have used a jimmy to open that door before how evr you have to open the pannel and remove the lock cylinder part and make sure that the key is working or yo must change the tumbler s in the lock to fit your key (lock smith)

If true, start at the source and pop the hood.

This is going to be a bit of back and forth dialogue. I'll ask some questions and you get me the answers. That way we can get to the root of the problem. To save time, I'll ask multiple questions at a time. Here goes.

• Check the battery. Is it still there? (Valid question with no evidence of power)
• Are the terminal clamps tight?
• Are the terminals clean and free of corrosion?
• Are all the belts in place and tight? (pay special attention to alternator)
• If you have a voltmeter. test the voltage at the battery terminals. It should be +12.5VDC.

each vehicle is different put the key in the ign. turn key on press door lock/unlock at the same timehold button for 10 sec see if any lights on the dash inst. panel blink if they do that means that the key fob was programmed to your vehicle i recommend a new key fob this will give you definative instructions on how to reprogram your fob

Check the buttons.. I have an 06 Grand Prix with the Remote starter on the top and it seems that the conductor on the buttons worn out.. Take the keyfob apart, pull the rubber buttons off the chip, lick your finger and touch the place where the unlock (right side of the fob) would be. That should unlock your doors. I just did it with mine. I would just buy another fob on ebay and change the buttons out.. Hope this works
