1995 Ford Taurus front passenger window went down and won't roll up

Remove the switch panel and check to see there is 12V power there.. If there is Push the switch and see if the power comes out of it to drive the motor, if the power is not present check the wire back looking for the short.. usually if the power is missing none of the windows will work. look where the wires come out the door post to the door. look at fuses, If there is power and it does not come through the switch when you push the switch. the switch might be bad. in which case jump the switch to roll window up and buy a new switch (rock auto.com) if you apply 12v power and the window still will not go up.. you will need to replace the motor. not a hard job. you must remove door panel and remove regulator and motor and replace and reinstall. either junk yard part, craigslist part or new at Rock auto.. Post a comment and let us know what happens.

Windows in my 1998 cadillac deville dont work . What could it be

The first thing I would check would be the fuses. If the fuses check out I would the proceed to remove the trim panel on the drivers front door. As the drivers door switch works every door window in the car. Any problems here can effect every window. Once the trim is removed plug the switch back in.

Using a test light, I would then see if you have power coming in the door to the window switch. If there is power coming in, you have ruled out a blown fuse and you should gain power to the window motor when activating the switch.. If there is no power coming in, double check all the fuses.

If the fuses check out,yet there is still no power going to the switch remove the rubber boot covering the wires going into the door. It is not uncommon for a wire to break after many years of bending back and forth.

If none of these procedures help I would then begin looking for any relays tied in to the window system.

Headlight switch

Pulling back on the dimmer switch is using the "flash to pass" feature common on most cars and trucks. You are putting power to the high beam circuit without using the headlight switch.
You would need to check for power in and out of the headlight switch for the headlight circuit, and then the dimmer switch. On models built after 1996 the headlight switch grounds the lights.

THE WINDOWS WILL NOT GO DOWN they ars electric they quit on both doors at the same time

It would help if i knew the year, make and model of this car but i will try to help, the first thing is to check the driversdoor switch thats the master window switch. you will need to test for power and ground at the switch, using a testlight check and see if when the switch is pushed that power and ground are going to that window motor, if theres power going to the switch and not coming out of the switch then the switch is bad.the last thing would be the wiring coming into drivers door. it is very common for wires to break going into the door, open the driverside frt door and in the middle area of the door where the hinges are is a rubber boot, slide boot back and check all the wires, you may find a broken wire or two, good luck.

My rear defrost doesn't work. There is power to the switch but no power to the back window

check to see if power is coming out off switch to back window. if not switch is bad. try this if need be to find out if wire is broke. run a wire to back window from output on switch, touch or put it on defroster lug at back window. if it works then the main wire is bad, make sure all fuses and relays are ok. heres an eaiser way !! remove switch, jump from positive wire to wire going to back window. thats if wire is ok, to back window.

2005 Ford Freestar rear air electrical

The blend door is stuck or not receiving the control knob information to change the temperature.

Your car uses an electronic blend door actuator. you will need to locate this devise under the dash. You may have to remove the dash to get to it. You will want to make sure that there is power coming in to the new switch and going out to the Blend Door Actuator. If you do not have power to the switch then find out why and fix the broken wire, if you have power to the motor but it won't move then replace the Blend Door Actuator (BDA).

Make sure the black wire to the BDA is grounded. The do the following:
Test the orange wire going to the BDA and the Yellow wire from the BDA to the switch for postive power. This will tell you if the BDA is getting power in from the car and out to the switch. Then make sure you get a power reading from the Red with White strip and the Red with Lite Green strip, this will tell you that the switch is sending the power back to the BDA to control the temp. If power is coming in to the BDA and not going out to the switch then the BDA is bad. If power is going to and from the switch back to the BDA then that also says the BDA is bad. If the ground is broken that will cause the BDA not to respond.
