Try compression, should be around 6 bar each rotor, if low squirt a few tablespoons of oil into each plug hole (they rely on this for compression) plugs back in and try again

2.4 pt cruiser wont try to crank even with starting fluid its got good firing on all cylinders good suction at intake and fuel pumps getting fuel to motor have no way to tell how strong the fuel press

If a volatile starting fluid, typically ether, won't make it fire or even sound like it is trying to fire the problem is likely to be with the spark though if attempting to start continuously for some time hasn't caused the smell of petrol about the place and caused the spark plugs to show signs of wetness there probably isn't any injection taking place either.

In the absence of both spark and injection it could be an immobiliser problem or it could be one or both of the positional sensors (crankshaft or camshaft) or the connections or wiring or the ECU that has failed.
A code read might help.

I suggest spending some time checking the fuses first and then carry out a thorough visual inspection of all the associated pipes, wires and cables before moving on to a more in depth diagnosis.

Good luck!

Car wont start or fire even with starting fluid

To review - - if you have spark, fuel, and compression, you should have combustion.
In this case, if the timing belt is damaged, you might not have compression or spark at the right time.
A faulty crank or cam sensor could cause you not to have spark at the right time.
The spark plugs could be worn out or fuel fouled and not able to fire under compression.
Did the car die or just not start ?

Can't start

Determine if it's more of a spark problem or more of a fuel problem.

If it turns over vigorously, then the battery and starter is good.

If it won't start even though it is turning over, then I would spray some starting fluid into the intake and see if it starts momentarily or for a few seconds.

If it does start, then you know you have spark, but no fuel delivery. In which case it could be a bad fuel pump or fuel injectors aren't firing.

If it doesn't start even with the starting fluid, then you may not have spark.

Good luck on this diagnosis.

1987 RX7 Turbo cranks but does not starts. Was not getting fuel to system so, I jumped pump and works ok but, still not starting. Power in coils, ignition and pump OK. ?????? Need the car ASAP! Any HELP...

I use to run my own switch for the fuel pump. Leave the power off to the pump for about 10 mins. Then power it up then start engine. If this doesn't work use a little starting fluid. If that doesn't start the engine check to make sure you are getting spark to the plug. If you are check the compression.

There's fuel to the engine but it will not fire it

Check your inertia switch in the trunk and press to reset it. See if you hear the pump run when you turn the key. Then try to start it. If it has been awhile since fuel filter time, you could do a fuel sample and replace the filter. You must have some type of spark to ignite the starting fluid, but your TPS switch regulates fuel pressure and spark advance. A code reader would be a nice thing to use right now. You may want to look at the timing belt for shredding. I hope this helps you.
