Not all cars are equipped with a block heater...in fact the vast majority of cars aren't...If you have one it is in the engine blocks cooling jacket, or it may be in the radiator hose. If you can locate a 3 prong electrical plug on the front of your Aveo, follow the cord back to the engine and you'll see where it is.
SOURCE: chev aveo, no heat when sitting still
First....check your radiator...make sure its full. No water = no heat. Have you noticed that the knob controlling your heater has become much easier to move? If so, your cable may have come loose. Disconnect your Neg. battery cable. Remove radio, ac/heater control panel. This usually involves removing a few screws. Find your heater control valve located behind above items. You will see what looks like a plastic box behind the dash. On that box, you will find a cable mounted there that moves a lever back and forth. Make sure it moves the lever when you move your control knob. This is your heater control valve. While in there, look for any loose vacuum lines, connections, etc.
A little common sense goes a long way.
If anyone has been working on car in the same area i.e. radio..etc. this could cause one to investigate possible problems as a result.

SOURCE: how do you install a block heater on a chevy aveo 2006?
A block heater is installed in one of the freeze plug ports in your block. Drain your cooling system. Then drill a small hole i the center of the freeze plug and screw a self tapping screw into the hole. You can the use a claw hammer or something similar to pull the freeze plug. Then you just install the block heater in the freeze plug's place. Refill your cooling system and let it get up to full temperature checking carefully for leaks. Please rate my answer.

SOURCE: What are these codes PO128 P1781 PO700 2004 Chev
I use a site that deals with nothing but codes for automobiles, and this is what they gave me for your year, make and model of your car. PO128 is Electrical System failure. P1781 is Engine Torque Signal Circuit, and PO700 is Engine and Cooling. If you gave me the right codes, this is the answer Chevy gave me. hope this helps
