There should be 2 places where you can fill the gear oil and drain the gear oil they are most likely allen wrench fittings make sure you remove the filler one first because if you take the drain plug out first and cant get the filler plug out you are screwed.

Sounds like either the battery leads are on the wrong way round, or the starter main cable is touching something and shorting to earth. Retrace your steps and check your connection locations.
Either that or its a dead short through the starter. Remove main cable from back of starter and tape up incase of short. then reconnect battery. If ok now then your looking at starter motor.

I have owned various audi's over my lifetime and have always loved the quality and drive that they offer but when i bought my first auto which was multitronic i had nothing but big problems! costly problems which ended in a replacement gearbox and surfing the internet has brought to my attention that i aint the only one!

Turn off the ignition press and hold the button on the leftside of the display while turning the ignition on it should say service oil on the display pull out the button on the rightside of the display until the service oil clears
